Songwriter?
Me and my band have recorded 5 "albums" before we hit 15 y.o. lol But it was only for fun, we didnt know how to play on anything, just throwed what came to our minds + sampler from videogames.
About lyrics. Now. Everytime something comes to my mind, words, music, riff, i just writing it down, and thinking about it for a while. After few months I have around 50 songs lyrics scraps written, and many ideas for music.
About music: firstly you have to listen... listen listen listen a lot. At the begining mainly the genre of music which you want to make, or you like. Listen as many bands you can. After few years with "masters", try to dig underground, not well known bands, listen how they play, learn how many mistakes they are making, then you will know how you dont want to sound-like. Music, sounds fun but its hard work.
@Necro: pretty good, electronic black metal
i am being taught by a guitarist who has been in the industry for over 39 years.. and he has had number 1's and he is a producer with his own recording studio at the moment.
he gave me tips on song writing because i also want to be a famous musician
but you can't just make up riff after riff which don't really lead to each other
you have to make something simple and catchy in the verse, with some good lyrics and melody because thats what people like.
when you hit the chorus it is the uprising of the song where it becomes tense
and its like a huge mood swing in the song, like chords going up through the scale or something. and if you have intro then verse then chorus then verse then chorus then middle8 then verse/chorus and a good outro
it should be good i mean i can tell you what a number 1 song structure is but i can't write it
Thanks, man tipses here!
Yes, sure it's hard but it's really fun anyway
