hi ppl, need help with Sound Blaster X-Fi

it producing heavy lags sometimes fps really dropping to ~10 in q3, noticed some sound lags in movies also

i was using pretty old SB live 128 card and didnt have any probs

hardware now:
Core2Duo 6400
asus p5b mainboard
asus 7600GS video
2gb ddr2 memory

so wtf why it happening? installed latest drivers

any suggestions?

P.S. q3 gives 600-1200 fps with \com_maxfps 0 - see photo

well..I will try to give you a small help even though I do not really think it will work...cause it is for another type of lag that helped me solve (midi lag)

Try install those drivers...from the following site (if you have not already did) =/

im intrigued to how u get 1200 fps, doesnt the q3 engine only support max 1000? Smug maybe the software/drivers installed with this particular model are laggin ur pc, check the memory usage of the processes loaded with ctrl+alt+delete..

I heard the Sound-Blaster X-Fi has a lot of hardware problem. The lagging issue is common. See review here : http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2687630&CatId=2771 . Maybe some search on google may help you out. What about sounds commands in your config, maybe you got to change something out. You could take a look at Commander's Keen console page for more infos.

THX for help all, especially Dementor Tongue

but all this things was off by default.
btw dont have such thing from pic. №1

tried to update drivers manually, it helped a bit, but still laggy as shit Big grin
now not so frequent but anoying anyways.

and i cant get it coz during the moments it laggin - cpu usage 30% on 1st cpu and 15% on 2nd, memory usage 30% it shouldnt be so laggy.
and it lags like in slow-motion but with sound- "iiiimmpreeeeeeessssssiiiivvveee" - sounds like that Big grin

**edit** tried to turn all features on, it works exactly the same like without

@Tyr - ye, Fraps shows 830 fps

Return your card to your pc store and let it test there i think its seriously hardware related then , mabey get a new one ? Big grin for your warrenty
