Sound Cards an Headsets
As Base says, the Medusas actually do have several speakers in each ear and all that shiznit.
I've had mine for a long, long time now (I don't even remember, well over a year anyway) and what I've found is that they're awesome for movies (and soundtests, heh) and not special at all for games. Or were anyway. Let's just say I'm very careful with all my stuff, but if this shit falls into the ground maybe even one single time they certainly do not benefit from being so heavy.
Feels like I've tried everything but it's friggin' impossible to discern whether sounds come from above or below and how far, which is weird since that's flawless in soundtest mp3's etc.
Anyway, these STILL go for almost €100 where I live, and if anyone's willing to go that far or beyond, there are other alternatives.
As for soundcard, all I know is I've had built-in cards on my nForce mobo's forever and the difference switching to the X-Fi was amazing. THAT was worth the money.
Can 7.1 sound cards still work using 5.1 ?
withnout eny troubles
ergh, its no mater how much u will repeat it ppl always belive new=beter thats a false !
placing few speakers close to one ear dont gives the efect at all, its an marketing blabling to sell customer 'new, tehnology, beter' produc and ern on fools money...
what will sounds beter? 6 speakers that cost 100e or 2 speakers that coust 100e ? the answer is perty obvious... u can easly calculate that the quality of these 2 speakers is 3x times beter !
an human ear describe and positioning sound by comparing sounds from both ears, the soud is only in one place=one speaker, and we know from what place the sound is by comparing delay and loudnes in both ears, almoust every new soud card is able to emulate daylays and loudnes per sound source, and placing specyfic waves to our "surround speakers" , u can all these sounds group to lef and right, center u getting by an the same amplitude in both speakers, so u can play surround sound in headphones using only two speakers ! u dont need more than 2 speakers !
speakers in headphones are on ears delays and loudnes of traveling waves withnout emulating them are equal 0 ! so there are no "surround sound" withnout emulation... it will sound same on 1 or 160 speakers its no mater at all.
lef ear lef group of sound, left speakers group
right ear right group of sounds, right speakers group
surround soud is able to heard only if u mix lef and right chanels in sound card procesor
now the simples thing...
if comes to "flor speakers" we got 4 major aroundg speakers wich are placed as surounding separate sources/sound waves, u hearing each speaker as a separate sound wave wich u are able to localise withnout eny troubles by comparing the same sound in both ears, but in headphones u must mix lef ad right chanel to get the same efect ! and not iven an trilon speakers will help in this mater...
btw in a hi fi audiophile sound system let it be surround system that cost 4 ooo ooo euro do u stand these speakers uper or lower to hear objets that are under u or below u? hmmm think look and have yors own conclusion ']
for me eot
-edit-
changed my mind, whatever
looks like not an eot
talked with torzelan via pm, and im do think u also might be interested
its for someone who think that u need more than 2 speakers to describe location up/down, use for lisen headphones only ! normal ones with 1 right and 1 left speaker
also this u might find interesting
--edit---
addet soundfiles for lisen
