Suggest Pc for Quake
Hello!Im playing on laptop with a docker right now, which means I can use monitor (75 hz) and keyboard&mouse. The fact is its struggling to handle 125fps on QL even on 800x600 res or some shit like that. The game sometimes feels very unsmooth and its limiting my performance I think. I would like you guys to tell me what PC to buy to be able to run QL on stable 250fps without problems. I need the cheapest thing, I dont care about any other function or stuff just this. Thank you in advance.
any desktop pc will do. quake isn't a demanding game.
how old is the laptop btw?

QL fps is a very tricky thing, some maps just cause crap performance.
On laptops its mostly that cpu and gpu are still in power saving mode though.

So after a few years I just remembered that I had an account on this site, and I thought, I wonder if skull's still around, and would you look at that. Cheers mate! (although the fact that you're still here really makes me wonder)
just buy an office pc with a graphics card, best solution if you want to play ql only.
offfice pc's usually embedded Intel HD graphics just like any other cheap pc but it's not really what you want.
those range from 100 to 300 € depending of specifications of course.

for example, this one, it's actually pretty good, given it has 500 HDD, 4GB RAM, 7.1 sound, equally good psu, intel i3-4160, + some really optional stuff like 3.0 usb ports & card reader on MSI H81M-P33
building your own in this case would be cheaper tho.
(if you have chrome, just translate the page )
