[Suggestion] xp_playerLifes
Hi,
It's the maximum number of times a player can spawn within a round (spawnkill excluded)
for ffa, it's particular as there is no round notion, xp_playerLifes
is then the max number of time to spawn within a game
xp_playerLifes 0
illimited spawns (default value) = current system
xp_playerLifes 5
players can spawn 5 times within game/a round
Special notes :
- if
xp_playerLifes
is positive, then the game ends for ffa when only one player has remaining lifes = last man standing. - if
xp_playerLifes
is positive, then the round ends for team based when only one team has remaining lifes = CA+. - if a player joins on ffa, he shouldn't get
xp_playerLifes
lifes but the same amount of lifes remaining for the player on the bottom of the list (if he has 1 remaining then player joining has 1 life too, if he is totally dead (0 lifes), it means he can't spawn till next map) - if a player joins on a team, he shouldn't get

ok, I actually have to admit this suggestion really is great and definitely has great potential, not because its something new, rather because it allows you to create a whole new kind of gametype because it closes the gap between clanarena (1 life) and tdm (infinitive live). It creates a whole new target for these gametypes, also it reduces the bad luck people might have in clanarena (getting ganged by more then 1 player at a time - and after being dead you simply respawn. For example, in normal clanarena people have 100-150, you could split it to 50-75 and 2 lifes per person a round for example).
Imo this would be a great addition to gameplay and team work, especially weak links within a team wouldn't ruin whole teamplay in tdm for example, if every player in tdm has lets say, 50 lives.
ps: should be adjustable for map
edit: tbh, it could be used for a modified protect the leader, for example, the leader of a team has only 1 life (he is a kind of mobile flag) and the enemys have to kill this guy to score. This function really has a lot of possibilities.

this would also give the opportunity to effectively use specific team based settings, something that i think is practicly unused at the moment.
