The scenario.... well, I can't go into great detail about our setup, but basically, we have several servers running from one home directory, broken up into several game directories. I'm trying to reduce redundancy in this setup as much as possible, as well as making life easier at the same time. I'm thinking about storing bans.txt in the top level of the home directory and creating a symbolic link in each of the excessiveplus directories. Ban once, banned everywhere Big grin

I have been administrating Unix / BSD / Linux servers for the last 10-years, and my gut tells me I can absolutely do this. Despite how silly this probably sounds, I thought I'd ask to make sure E+ doesn't have any kind of issues with doing something like this... multiple servers writing to the same file is a tad bit worrisome.

I do it.

I also symlink pbsvuser.cfg, pbbans.dat, and all the pk3 files.

The only way you'd run into an issue is if you banned a user on 2 servers simultaneously... then conceivably, one wouldnt make it. But the chances of that are so remote with the handful of servers you can run simultaneously.
