I thought the codecs were not only chosen by the server, but can be different for each channel.

The real truth is that teamspeak is garbage, plenty of better alternatives.

[19:39:33] [@di[g]it] A payee receiving a traveler's cheque should follow its normal procedures for depositing cheques into its bank account: usually, endorsement by stamp or signature and listing of the cheque and its amount on the deposit slip. The bank account will be credited with the amount of the cheque as with any other negotiable item submitted for clearance.

Digit was giving you a second solution

Of course, RMAing is a piece of shit and could take weeks

try changing codecs as they have said, that is the most probable solution

Codecs are chosen by the server in TeamSpeak, when you select codecs client side, its purely for testing:

Try playing with mic boost in your advanced microphone settings, also make sure everything but the microphone is selected in recording via volume settings.
