Too bad that I don't have the possibility to test both models in game. Sad

Or maybe there is? Why dont u bring your laptop with u in the store and try them on it? When I was buying a mousepad I brought mine good old 510 with me and tried all pads in the shop ;-]

No, they are quite exclusive and there isn't a single shop in the city which offers them, unless you say that you are willed to buy them (they will order them for u). But thx for the tip anyway, seems that there are not much people around which already had a similar problem. So far I thought that there are no dumb questions left which hasn't been asked in the www yet.

I will call Sennheiser tomorrow, let's see what they say.

FYI:

I've called Sennheiser this morning. The recommend one of the headsetes which have the integrated soundcard. They told me that it's for sure better to choose the 156 (with integrated soundcard) than the newer PC 160 or PC 161 when playing on a notebook.

To buy a soundcard for the PCMCIA-slot would be another possibility...

i use cheap in-ear type, work perfect for me in q3, the range of hz is ample for q3 ad they allow me to be immersed into teh game but IMO for music not so good, cause they cant take the volume i require Big grin for that i use speakers, cause i need to feel the bass Big grin the best thing is they only cost a small amount, and they are also light and comfortable, and if i just wanna use one ear, no problem just let the other hang.

I think the consensus on head-fi.com seems to be that Audio-technica A700/A900 is the best for gaming. If you're going to trust any sites with regards to headphone recommendations, trust that site. I found that most other sites have bad and uninformed reviews/recommendations.
