Well if we want to go down that road several of the polish stars dosen't even know polish. I guess it's nothing unique for any country in any sport nowadays.

podolski speaks polish fluently, and it hurts him to make goals against poland.

in 2006 he didnt wanted to play against poland, but he had to.

he isnt the smartest anyway, and he has much unluck in german league, he sits mostly on bank at fc bayern. (toni and klose are the first offenders in bayern)

Mako you forgot about Trochowski Winking He's also Polish origin and he play for Germany team. He is known for his powerful shots.

Grandfather from Budapest, Father grown up in Ludwigsburg (germany). Kuranyi was born in brasil and lived the first 14 years in panama and brasil. With 15 Kuranyi came back to germany.

Klose,
Father German, Mother polska.

Gomez
Father spain, Mother german.

Just podolski is 100 % polska, but living in germany since even before he was 10, and has since beeing a kid the germany id-card.
