I just got a Logi Trackman (that mouse with the ball under your thumb) just to try it on quake. It feels quite crappy while playing and might just set it aside.

Is a trackman a good idea for quake? Anybody with experience with this rat? Have I just wasted $$$ for nothing?

Mariano, store that with the wacom tablet, or even better store the trackman and send me the tablet.

You just got it and you haven't got used to it yet? Oh shock!

Of course you're not going to be great with it at first, you have to get used to using it. It's a completely different way of controlling your cursor/crosshair. I don't think it's inherently worse than a mouse. Hell, a work colleague of mine can only play with his trackball, and he's pretty good at it. I've even played Quake with my Wacom tablet several times and after a few rounds you really get the hang of it. So, give it some time if you haven't given up yet.
