hi ,

i've just noticed a trashed forum topic about Rcon leakage .

im not going to offend (admins) neither to defend someone (kerl) idk 99% of u guys here and idk which server was the stolen rcon even but...

(im not who hides truth causing someone's wrong judgment)

this is a guy u all know in beer.freezer was drunk then , i myself wonder how someone gives rcons ((oh no)) why someone sells alcohols for such kids.

look at this pic , regardless if its a correct or wrong rcon (i didnt even try , never will) regarding to a manner (dont touch what isnt urs).

and for the topic title , excuse me its only to get attention .

one last thing , im considering myself here positively helping , and strongly consider my (post removal /or/ account 2nd ban) ''unfair'' .

just way of entering rcon / ref is unsafety in quake.

Yeah, safest way is to have in cfg or at least: bind x "rconpassword xxx"

or to make inConsole script if its possible wich will work by this way:

\rconpass [ENTERbutton]
 
[echofromconsole]please type rcon password...
 
blablablamypasswordblablabla [ENTERbutton] - all what you write here/now is visable only at your own console
 
[echofromconsole]confirmed
 
[echofromconsole]NICK is admin now!

or
\refpass [ENTERbutton]
 
[echofromconsole]please type referee password...
 
blablablamypasswordblablabla [ENTERbutton] - all what you write here/now is visable only at your own console
 
[echofromconsole]confirmed
 
[echofromconsole]NICK is referee now!

then mistakes with showing passwords will not exist anymore

or smth like login console

\loginconsole
[echofromconsole] type 1 for - enter rcon pass
[echofromconsole] type 2 for - enter ref pass
[echofromconsole] type 3 for - enter password for server
[echofromconsole] type 0 for - quit login console

and it would works like this two first things Tongue

He obviously was joking and if he wasn't, I'm sure that he is clever enough to replace it straight away. If you fail, isn't that hard to just replace it so not needs for other different ways.

first of all, it was a joke yes (rcon that i typed wasnt real one)
second i wasnt drunk, but earlier i mentioned that i drinked last day and i feel like im still drunk a little
and last one, im not a kid, i always use special bind for that or simply type: rcon+TAB it fill up the whole command /rconPassword then i can safely type real one Whew!
