tv series
Masters of horror has a few nice episodes (some suck badly)
Yes yes, MacGyver is a classic. Great main theme
It surprises me that nobody mentioned X files. Far from perfect but still, you can't talk about tv series without mentioning X files. ;P Eh, i wouldn't trade teh golden days for anything. Even if it should have ended in season 6 imo.
South park of course. Futurama was really nice too so i suggest it -damn fox for killing this one.
Power Rangers ftw :===E
Friends
Dragon Ball Z
Baywatch Fo Sho
Just those atm ...can't remember the others ...peace..
I agree with bo BUT i find a slightly different "reason" for quality success. The very best series come from creators that have a very clear vision of how the story will end. Carnivale is the finest example i have in mind. Books -> Series. You know exactly how the story will go so you focus all your energy on other production values, directing/music/acting/atmosphere/ etc etc. Sooo if your story is good, you'll have a good result for sure.
X files. They didn't know how it would end so they fucked it up nicely. Same with lost as you say or prison break or soooooo many other series. "It's the money money money....." -bad juju ;d
That is exactly the reason i wait on most series to end to start watching. I have no need to waste soo many hours on "a good effort" or "a fucked up story".
Built the story + Have the writer on the set --> !!
ps: All the above don't matter on series that have on every episode a different story.
--edit--
Dragonball was good while i could still count the characters ;P (or in other words while he was still a kid ;])
Arrested Development - who said that LA couldnt do intelligent comidies, eh?
and chappelle's show and i feel im the only one who watched the Rick james sketch trying to identify with the stroy and be amazed by it, and not to hear "IM RICK JAMES BITCH!" for the 798956th time
Oh, and Green Wing - british comedy that is funneh - i believe they donmt make it anymore.
My name is Earl -saw 1 episode from the 2nd season...
Peep Show, u gotta watch it , it has me in stitches every episode
despite my mates tryin 2 show me DVD's of it... i just really_dont_like_it... In my eyes, David Mitchell is just a cunt, and his sort of humour just makes me amazed about how much of a cunt he is Its just... i really dont like him and think that he's a cunt, while the other dude looks like the offspring of man and gerbil
@SuperBO: u seem to enjoy your series short, then i strongly suggest u watch Day Break, Thief (both already ended) and even Over There (was left to die, but still 1 great season).
LOOOOL at u!!!!!! u forgot one.
The series won widespread acclaim among many mainstream non sci-fi publications. Time magazine, Rolling Stone magazine and New York Newsday named it the best show on television in 2005. Other publications like The New York Times, The New Yorker and National Review also gave the show glowing reviews.
battlestar galactica-go and download ya qeers
Ps. start from the beginning or dont bother...
Prison break, CSI...
Lost sux0rz
It is too long. They had a great idea, a great 1st season and a semi great second season and realized they could make more money from it and they drag it out and out and out and out. I mean, how long is it interesting to watch the same people on the same island season after season after season?
Finish while it is still good instead of draggin it out just to cash in. Lost = Falcon Crest on an island as far as I am concerned right now.
The only series I can accept has many seasons is 24, simply because it is a new storyline every season.
Prison break same thing, I watched almost the whole first season before I heard there was gonna be a season 2 and I stopped watching. It means you gonna have to wait too long to see the end of it and that the quality will get worse and worse, better to skip it
Thats why I love Carnivale. They made 2 great seasons and stopped.
