normal bnet problem, its the reason why i just play offline.
there u need ages for leveling, getting a 80+ charactar and finishing hell is pretty hard.
(hardest are imo the ancestors of the barbarians ;d)

you CAN know when and you basically know how to let him spawn. there are 256 different IP's (i think its 256) you can create a game on @bnet, so each IP has a few games running on it. if somebody sells SoJ's (Stone of Jordans) on that ip uber diablo will spawn on all open games that are hell and on the same ip. you need to sell between 75 and 125 sojs to let him spawn, it varies.
edit 2: oh and he always spawns at the first super-unique monster you see (e.g travi, shenk, eldritch, etc), the small monsters around will disappear then^^

doods, d2 is so easy going ^^ you can a equip an uber smiter with only 1hr that can solo uber trist withing 20 minutes, with uber or cs levelling you get 92 or higher within a game, there simply isnt any challenge if you play online.

and @trance, yep indeed (though uber items were IMO too easy to get, after 2 month everybody had an eni 15/15sup ap+775 which was kind of boring^^)

edit: and @HQ, no thats not true. duels were always funny, you just need to know how to equip yourself against what character and it will get really interesting. but you need like 200+ hrs to really got every item you could need against any imaginary char^^

Yes, thank you captain obvious, i would have never figured it out, that Dirty compares a game to a game. My point is that Quake and Diablo are so different that comparing them, even by saying a simple 'x > x' is inherently silly.

Almost as silly as the mindless grind that Diablo 2 is.
