s_volume takes values between 0 and 1 like:
\s_volume 0.5
\s_volume 0.3
\s_volume 0.85
that's why there is the - sign: 0-1
1 is the maximum value.

yes, s_volume 0-1 is standart, but is not the limit!

s_volume 1.1 or 2 = kick
