Sup guys, I want to buy a good hdd, and I am having 2 options atm:

WD Caviar Black WD6401AALS

AND

WD6400AAKS

My research has gotten the upper hand to the "WD Caviar Black" but I cannot find too many info on the other one. Any opinions?

atm maxtor = segate

the fastest drive trophy belongs atm to the samsung

also segate bought two other experienced companies like quantum and maxtor no wonder it is a leader in hdd's atm

I'm to scare to bought any wd hdd because I saw how they worked back in in days Winking

samung seems to be the right choice, a lot quieter than segate and slightly better performance

Guys I thank you all a lot for the picks, I decided to buy the WD 640 CAVIAR BLACK 640 GB.

Here's a test for the 1 TB one:

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/16043-western-digital-caviar-black-1tb-hard-drive-review.html

You guys are right that WD did screw up in the past, but this hdd is number one atm on top of all other HDDs, (WDD 640 BLACK is 2nd) there's only 1 that tops it at idk what speed, but this one definitely blows away the competition.

Thank you again for your kind words <3

take WD***1FALS, many friends bought it and all are happy with it - fast, not very noisy and rather cheap. imho best choice atm

You are right Hazo, that HDD is topped as the jack of all trades atm, regarding dollar per GB and also performances, you can see its results in the link I have posted upper, where I thanked everyone for their support. Thanks for the recommendation, I don't have enough money atm for the 1 TB HDD, though I would've taken it... I need to buy some medicines for myself and then the HDD. Medicines are prioritised. Cheers man <3
