Also it is impossible to believe how so many people got so easily trolled by German killer once again. I mean, the question is legit, but the offtopic furor he created is not legit at all.

Any game community experiences losing players over time due to many different factors (real life factors, newer games, or just plain boredom), and some half-assed anticheat system has nothing to do with. At all.

This game was much more fun around 2006-2008 (perhaps early 2009). The reason? Game was more fun and community was much more humoroud and lighthearted (yet ironically at the same much more sophisticated than this current state of affairs ever hope to be). Rivalries still existed, but were treated like a fun element to make the game more interesting, (for example swe-lem-ko games were always special, then drt-ds-hyper). There were also much more fun and creative cups (just look at events after page 5 - so many fun concepts! Both for teams and for players). But I digress:

^ now we have established the reason why a lot of the so called high-skillers left, please note the following:

1) Accuracy is not a direct representation of skill.If a player is trying to acc-whore, they are only shooting to kill and are more likely to get hit by that spam rocket, skillfully placed nades or one of those "just in case" rails that go into corridors or angled doors.

2) Overall accuracy is not the same as railgun accuracy. Obviously most people here only refer to their rail accuracy instead of overall accuracies (just one of the reasons why this mod is not appealing to mainstream deathmatchers x) ) . I mean what difference does it make if a guy is hitting 63 percent rail if he bfg jumps everywhere like Speedy Gonzalez on PCP and plasma spams every doorway into oblivion? What sort of aim diety is that? Hark! What cruel fate hast thou befallen?

3) A simple addition of 1+2 (xd plz).Different gamestyles offer different rewards. For example, trance was easily in the top3 of players to play.this mod post-2005 (other two being harding and marfuz if you are wondering) yet his accuracy was usually in the 10-30 range because he railjumped to move and played with snappy shots into corridors. Yet his flickshooting, reactions and angle shots were naturally one of the best (playing tourney1 duels or being stuck @ plasma chair in cpm14 with 3-4 enemies and come out on top due to amazing bfg+flickrail combos were amazing to watch.

Torzelan on the other hand, when actively playing here, was like a personification of Thor, was no stranger to 50-70 accuracies. I remember it happened in a clanwar once during oskaliber's freeze cup (20 clans took part!).

So awesome was his prowess that the following poem was written:

He tried, like so many, to get acquainted with quakelive, and struggled, but he already sees the fundamental flaws with e+, so he is already too advanced for this place but isn't advanced enough for a normalized deathmatch game putting him in a confusing place, giving him homicidal tendencies and a penchant for autoerotic asphyxiation. We've all been there man. That Russian guy seems full of bull about ql too, as his rail accuracy vs us, in a railonly (!!!) teamgame (!!!) was below 25 (achievement unlocked: Dick Cheney). Which means he probably was just playing ca and probably on tier2. Wonder what his account would be playing against someone like NooD or h8m3. Or even me, lol.

With what? BFG? Not even binded. With rockets or plasma so? I get the same accuracy for rockets, plasma and railgun : 30-40%, and this is strictly the same on Quake Live : no strange difference here.

I must agree with the first part of your post but I didn't really understand what you are trying to say with the second part of the post. If you say that you can beat me on Quake Live, its not proved yet. And if you say you play better, by the fact you are leaving everytime I'm rapping your ass, but stay only when you get a little better score...this is not really true too.
