Can some1 make sence of this?
how do u know that? I could have 2 RDRAM and 2 DDR slots.
Because I went to the DELL site, checked the specs, then told you 3 times. Hence the "From the horse's mouth" comment.
i have:
- a-data 512MB pc3200
- kingston 512MB pc3200
- a-data 256MB pc2700u can use many combo's, im gonna remove my pc2700 cause it slowing down my other ram..
That's just mixing manufacturers and speed ratings, they're all DDR SDRAM. The chips might even be from the same manufacturers, there aren't many these days.
This dude wants to mix RIMM and DDR. HQ may indeed be right in saying that there are mobos that can support RIMM and DDR, although I've never seen any. What you CAN'T do, no matter what slots you've got, is use both at the same time. It's like saying you can wear shoes or trainers on your feet, you can't wear both at the sime time! (not on the same foot anyway
Still can't do it
no, i want 2 take out my RDRAM or RIMM and put DDR in.
huh
its is not posible to put dimm(ddr) module to rimm(rdram) slot
rimm module have two rows close to self, look how yors slots on motherboard looks like
if all have two spikes close to self inside, yors motherboard uses only rimm modules
dimm modules have only one row so inside slot for memory be only one spike, if that so yors motherboard suport ddr memory
btw no meter how memory chips looks like BGA or TSTO
