cl_timenudge
Since a various amount of people tend to use it lately, there seems to be a need to discuss it again.
What we need are various things:
-Statement of Ranking moderation, since timenudge is forced to zero in pb games (if server runs right pb settings, which not all do.)
-Statement of devs if its there are any problems with netcode or apm.
-Clarification of timenudge and its effects.
-Statement of Server admins of their ruling on their servers.
Imo Timenudge rips off an very elemental part of gaming, 'linear' netcode and therefor suxx ass.
I totaly against that command, it should be prohibited on all servers, and specialy in clan wars.
Sad some server owners, allow the pb to not kick from timenudge, but hey...that command makes worst the game vs such players! make rule or smth...
doh? wake up newbs, where you were like 6-7 years ago when everyone knew it is a cheat. go to official servers like space station, every russian noob using it and no ban... gg
I let it as it is, "0". I don't care about this command, useless, because it will not make a big difference between two players.
i don't really care, the bigger problem is when people lagging because they just have a complete mess in their pc, its a lot harder to hit them and they usually don't give a damn about it anyway :} somehow the bigger fps and negative nudge makes them easier to hit, because it reduces yours client lag and u have bigger chance the server going to recognize the hit because it seems to be more closer in the timeframe
so the nudge itself makes no difference if both do have stable connections, there are tons of players who even lower down the packets rate to minimum to make herself harder to hit, its commonly known in ng or on the CTF servers
the nudge and framerate helps me against lagging people, and not to make me lag at all :} but of course i use it in reasonably way, i don't set it to -100 or com_maxfps 0
Most of the events, if not all of them, have client network rules in where cl_timenudge 0 is always specified..
i don't see why it shouldn't be prohibited from normal cws as well .. (added in the general ranking ? )

if i remember right the snaps are capped at 125 same as fps in ql
Pls, all the players who whines about cl_timenudge , you will always whine no matter what, if your aim sucks u will find a reason to blame that's for sure, so firstly find out more about cl_timenudge - what it is and what it does.Remember ussually when player whines , it's because he loses or gets pissed of. And the only thing that makes a player hard to hit is packet loss which may be caused by many reasons.
