Computer help!
your boot sequence has to be
cd-rom
hdd 0 (or whatever)
otherwise it will never look for cd
ok take the hdd out, set it to slave, format the damn thing on another computer...put it back to master and put it back into ur comp, then lets see it try and boot windows up
(btw i have formatted a hdd and windows booted back up....so dont completly rely on that idea lol!! )
Format HDD and then install windows on that clean formatted hdd when u put it back. And a startup floppy disk could help u,from win98 se...u can download all the files needed for it,google it up,Im 2 tired to do it now
buy a win xp pro oem
run setu form bot cd, and format hdd (quick) to NTFS, and instal win xp, win98 it is not best place to run 939 and a64 platform couse it is not suporting these parts corectly
LOL u two,who said anything about installing win98????? I was talking about WIN98 Second edition STARTUP DISK which can be downloaded from the net because IMO it is the best startup disk and if u wanna get to real-DOS mode real quick, from where u can format/install win, flash bios and do whatever u want...and ofc that u will install winxp pro (on a clean formatted hdd) Win98 is history
When u format hdd use that startup disk, when u get to DOS mode go to "D:" where D should be the letter of your cd-rom (it can be E: or F: for example. Then type "dir" and locate the "I386" folder. When u see that folder type "cd I386" and then "winnt" all without the quotes.Your win will start installing and later u can choose if u want a NTFS system and so on.Sry if this was unnecessary i dunno how much knowledge u have about dos and his commands
well there i can pick my operative system but then it asks if i wanna boot in failsafe or normal etc again...
