DeeX server - TOO much change!

This is kind of going off this thread. It seems overall most people enjoy the new config. I don't mind the config at all but after I stopped playing it seems like everytime I log onto DeeX something has changed, either new maps or the config has changed (like the tiniest things such as when the ammo would decrease, then slowly increase). It gets really frustrating and kind of sucks because the 3 years I've been playing, I have mainly been on DeeX or NWC Freeze (which is not here anymore, RIP!) and then to have to try and get used to something new only then to have it go back to being "normal."
As for the maps, I think most of them suck and are too big. A few big maps would be okay, but the way it is now... when it's 2AM and you have 2-4 people playing, sometimes you can't even finish a map. I believe they are being changed way too much and without anyone's consent really, it used to be announced before hand up in the console, now it's like, the map changes and when it starts to auto download it -- that's when you finally find out. Half the time, most people don't even like the maps anyways.
DeeX isn't even DeeX anymore but changing the name I think would only confuse people and drive them away. I'm sure if it would change, it would still be referred to as DeeX server.
Dak, if you happen to come across this, I am merely making a suggestion to make a poll about adding new maps, which maps, and having a permenant link that people can download the maps from so they have them ahead of time. I would say your own subforum for the sole purpose of "satisfying your consumers", getting opinions and having majority rule.
What does everyone else think?

i've already explained the same thing you've explained in the other topic
in-fact, i think everything that you've said has been covered already
everyone is trying to give their crappy suggestions and they get shot down when they are implemented and even more people complain
i just want to be able to play
i am fine with playing on beer and other servers when i feel like it though, it may get to the point where i might have to stop going to certain servers because i am tired

Yes, majority of players like Dak's config and there are the ones that do not (these are the people that don't even know there are other servers in E+ other than Dak's server, ha!). Some don't even know there was a change. I don't know how you can label this as "TOO MUCH" change because recently there was only 2 maps and a cfg that were slightly modified.
Compare yourself with other players on Deex that are alot more active than you are. They get quite more reptitions on maps and a better feel for the server's cfg. In result, these "active players" start to see potential flaws in the server's cfg that might need some improvement or maybe yet, the maps they played 98239 times are just simply getting too boring. That's a completely different point of view compare to people that aren't so active.

If Deex's Server actually had a consistent number of 2-4 players on it, then yeah, I see your point that the maps are too big. But during the day and evening, the server is consistently filled with more than 4 players, alot more. Can you imagine how annoying it would be to play on a smaller map with 8-10 players? SPAMFEST! When you play late at night, I think you just need to find another server that suits your preferences.

By the way, Dak doesn't need consent from anyone to change maps since after all it's her server

As a result these active players see the flaws and start playing other servers and relize that deex just seems to disappoint people. Maybe freeze servers are just getting boring in itself...
go play FFA, TDM, or CTF...there is many other great servers...take a chance of change and explore what else E+ has to offer... go to Euro servers even and get owned by them 
make deex have a permanent CFG and keep maps base and a few custom...explore the possibilities

maybe just return everything to original "deex" style... & let people complain... there are other servers u know
dak tries to please everyone, and that's never gonna happen, as far as I can see with all these threads lately complaining about her server. u people should be more thankful for all her work put into this, imo.

It's impossible to please everyone, so my advice would be to choose a setup that pleases most and stick to it. Unfortunately people don't like change, and also most either forget or don't care that most of the time servers are not free to run but have to be paid for. On top of that, there is lots of time spent reading PM's/emails from players with complaints. If you have the time, then
you shouldn't shut down a good server like deex, but try to listen to the majority of players and let the haters/whiners play elsewhere if they don't like it. As long as there is a popular server open, you will always get threads like this one which was part of the reason i gave up running the beer freezer (as well as personal reasons such as time) But really stick with it Dak and the best of luck

I won't shut it down. I'm just frustrated with everything I suppose.
I think Miss is right, leave the server running Deexslds and let ppl complain.
I will not, however, run strictly baseq3 maps. There aren't enough for a freeze server.
I'll add maps until I get around 20 that the majority like and then I'll let it be at that point.

I was saying that up to this point about all the changes being made. There's been too much. Half the people don't even like the server anymore. It is too much change because it's not what I'm used too. Personally, I liked the server when it was Sarasota's and also deexslds.cfg. I play mostly at night so it is very frustrating when we can't even finish my maps.
If you're saying that you want me to change to better fit my needs then maybe I will take deexslds.cfg and have my brother move his server downtown Minneapolis and play on my own with my friends. AT least it would be better and even better that it would be Plinko and I's server. But maybe I didn't want it to come to that because I do like DeeX just not all these changes [over] time.
