Also there were many bugs in Q4 when it came out. First official patch was realeased a couple of weeks after realeasing the game itself. That means they didnt prepare it like it should be done.
And the speed computers issue, good game supposed to run on weaker machines as well, deacreasing graph details should be enough. Genious games can be played on ANY PC.
But in Q4 its not enough, seems like a whole engine is buggy, at least i see it like that.
After Q3 success they were in a hurry to produce new quake part and earn money as fast as they can. Quality of game and proffesionalism werent important just money.
Now ppl play Q4 on all important tourneys in video games. Q3 is abbandoned, whereas most servers in net run Q3 instead of Q4. Its all against ppl needs.

Now Q3 source code is realesed. So programmers can modify it and as a result we can get really good games based on Q3 angine. Finally it can end up like ID Sotware with Q4 will losse many cutomers that will choose potential, based on Q3 engine, games and modifications.

Quake 1 -> great begginin, shoked the world like Doom, great 1rst's works of ID software

Quake 2 -> Best game of quake with out Mods. simply the words for this game is " unbeliveble "

quake 3 -> only good about this game is Mod's ( if this game didnt come out, quake 3 would be QUake 4, and ppl had to liked it, cause its the continuation of quake 2. quake 3 is just a ARENA game, multiplayer side. Not really a Stoyr or Basic Facts to do game. just kill eachother and make great Mod's like E+ )

quake 4 -> simply the continuation of Quake 2, nothing more... mods will come out in a few months / years... & when ppl can actually afford 5000$ pc's they are gonna start to develop some mods and actually play more this game. there for, more servers, more popular, more more stuff..

Q4 is funn playing alone just like half-life2...but online play sucks...Q4 seemed buggy my pc has power to runn it np ..but not much help out their on tweaking the config...All in All still hard to beat Q3
