*.drv file format - need help to open it.
Yesterday at night someone stolen my car. It was near to my house where I have monitoring cameras.
As I saw on this stuff there is recorded how thiefs stealing my car. Now I need to convert files or find a way to play it on pc. I've copied files to my pendrive. Problem is that files are *.drv . I cannot open it anyway. In google I see threads of ppl with same problem who have material from monitoring system.
Somewhere I've found that this *.drv files are driver of devices, but for sure (i see size of files) they r files with video.
Could someone help me how to open it?

something here :
You are right, .drv is mostly used for drivers but a file name extension can be used for various file formats. I assume that this is a proprietary format developed by the producer of the camera (name?) so you should check whether the company has a converter or player for these files.
I thought that there is a typo since most CCTV Security cameras use DVR-MS format when save. The DVR format allows saving multiple streams in the same file which makes sense.. DVR can be converted using FFMPEG ..
However this is not DVR format nor a known format to FFMPEG. When it try to read, it sais: invalid data found when processing input.

i found this ".DVR is a file format from a standalone CCTV digital video recorder."
maybe you can run it only at machine with that dvr adapter? go to security and ask them how to run it they need to know. maybe they can convert it to simple avi file - they should. btw. polce should know what to do with it ;] but they will do it in next year probably ;p go to owner of cameras and ask how he watching it and please him to save it as avi or other simpler file.
Did someone of you checked it?
