seems there is someone believing in urban legends.
Negative cl_timeNudge online just allow you to have a more stylish ping, but everyone knows its useless.
Only positive cl_timeNudge can really modify your connection, I think, by sort of forcing a lag, that's why punkbuster kicks with positive cl_timeNudge.
Punkbuster doesn't kick for timenudge by default.
wow, how much false info can gather in one place.
timenudge just says in which direction snaps are read out (in msec), if you do negative timenudge you get interpolated/laggy enemys who are ahead of the packets you recive, causing inprecision and the effect that you have less time disadvantage when a person comes into the room.
positive just has the opposite effect.
Since Unlagged removed the sense of using timenudge as lag compensation timenudge should be 0, if you differ it you gain reactionadvantage by dropping the chance to aim as good as before.
Example for good use of timenudge is in ql, there I suggest timenudge = -ping/10.
does positive timenudge actualy exist? from memory, im sure i read somewhere that it +values default back to 0, I maybe wrong.
yes, it exist.
Ah yeah, remember now - values outside of (-30) - (+30) dont do anything.
Also a Question, why does rate sometimes default to 193500? I mean i have never set this in my cfg and yet sometimes it does set itself to this value. I dont think people are choosing this setting it just ends up that way.
This rate mostly comes from hiszy servers
Also snaps and packets on entry
That rate proly does work well on hiszy , but not on other servers
The thing is many of the players using these server dont know this
