Intel gfx
i didn't touch those because 1.) people usually turn off dynamic lighting to begin with, 2.) people don't usually use vertex lighting because its straight ugly unless you are running on a pentium 1 and need the performance. Vertex is an eyesore
Shadows will not really make a difference, never did for me in quake 3
they aren't detailed enoughto add to that, ejecting brass and wall marks are complete hogs as well (though not as much, and are limited), and uselss.
You are within such conclusions coz it seems you never have had card like TNT64 or Geforce256DDR. Im guessing we have no common subj to talking about. Try to buy and run PII with adapters above to show yourself you are dont understand what you talking about with your modern accelerator. Im even muting about OpenGL SDK. Teach yourself and only after that return this tread. Dont worry.

your know-it-all syndrome is quite annoying, i used to game on similar rigs actually. I had no problem with FPS with the settings I had suggested on those more 'primitive' rigs. Of course this thread is about intel gfx, not anything that you had suggested. please go learn yourself some reading and comprehension skills. Do not worry, I am not going anywhere.
Regardless of what this know-it-all person has to say, with the card you have you may have to make quite a few sacrifices however you will surely get be able to bump your res up and keep a decent FPS.
actually i own a vodoo 1, but dont use it ']

Nevermind. But I have no such syndrome, best practices only.

you raise very good points, i do not deny that however, in regards to game-play I am trying to let out my personal experience on what works better for the eyes, as well as graphics. it differs for everyone. Of course the best way to achieve a higher fps is to just turn down and disable everything but game play is also an important factor to consider.
Practice is important, you may have more computer background than me, you may have less, who knows? But as I said, game-play is also important.

Is that we have agreed on a drawn game? Game:Productivity = 1:1. I do not take offence. I know that any remarks are important. Each person is an expert in own area. We will consider that you have specified on what that important in yours and I have made the same in my one. Thus we have united parts of the important information in a single whole that will useful for others. Peace? Peace.
She has a point...
Anyway, these shit gfx won't be a problem for me for much longer, a very special person has decided to give me the gift of a nice custom gfx card that actually works on my machine, so kudos to him and may the Intel days soon be far behind me

LOL My husb has dirty voodo1 and special separate PC with two Diamond 3dfx voodoo II in SLI for playing UnrealTournament as per he said that is the best for this game of using Glide API mode. Also he uses it for some legacy games (air battle simulation) that wont works at modern PC.
this is true old-school
I saw he makes meat off enemies explosions with his shock rifle. I doubt that allowed to name as old-school ))). He is my lead in FPS world LOL Sometimes we are beats each other at home lan party. But I never was a winner =(
