Linux distribution
Arch linux, install using this guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide
i test debian in my second hdd. its my firt instalation of linux. with kde that's rock.
cancel thath sucky mandriva or pclinuxos or any based on it...
choose wise - newest updated or prereleased soft arnt so good tested so choose only aiming at stable policy and with long history distro like slackware (archi, zenwalk, vector..) or debian (mint, elive...)
and maybe its not a distro, its Ur fs faulting slow downs !
short info reiser's: are cpu/ram hungry
ext's: gets fragmented after longer use, especially then filling up hd space that's drops performance very noticeably (also same applies but with less impact to reiser's)
jfs: not so fast as reisers but most anti fragmenting and first by cpu easy
that was MY opinion for u, gl
*uh i cant write w.o. mistakes
try that for me:D
