Logitech G5 - problem
Hello!
I've asked in our private forum yet, but it seems that nobody knows more.
Since some days im playing with the G5, but there is a problem:
I hit the fire button 1 time and it fires and fires, again and again. Nearlly every 10th shot is an endless shot...makes gaming not to be fun anymore and I don't know what could be wrong.
I'm using Win XP Pro and all usb-ports are 2.0 ports. I've already installed the new firmware (1.1) too.
Pls help me!
Try using PS2 port with converter I have had several mice that just act better on the PS2 port. I dont suggest USB for Gaming, but thats just my opinion.
Deex PS2 port limits the mouse rate to 200Hz max only,so for a pro gamer that is just unimaginable USB allows rates up to 1000Hz.And if G5 is designed to work on USB,if I owned it I would deffinetly want it to work on USB for that amount of money it costed.Otherwise I would go to the store and ask for a new mouse.
PS
Btw Sub wasnt this thread first in the offtopic forum Wtf
Hmmm never heard of it and I tried to read everything about G5 what I could find.
There is a chance the mouse is broken so maybe try to send mail to Logitech or try to exchange it using guarantee.
But first make sure you have latest driver as well as firmware.

Bah then I have been schooled to the game Thanks for the info Holms.
well its been hapenening to me too. but i have a intelieye cordless mouse.
it hasnt been hapening that often (about once a week or so) but it is pretty annoying. I have to click my mouse lot of times before it stops. dont know why it hapenes though...
ive got same problem on mx518...
os: winXP
usb rate: 500MHz
so im looking forward to an answer :}
Maybe u write ur chipset on mobo.
my rate is default, usb, my mb is nf7 (nforce2 chipset).
you guys?
I had the exact same problem with my Diamondback after increasing the usb rate to 1000hz. After going down to 250hz it hardly ever occured again.
I think the main reason for the problem was that the db can handle 750hz max. However mouserate.exe spat out values over 900hz ..
I'm not sure if it's due to the mouse or the usb-port.
In your case i'd try to decrease the rate to usb-default (125hz) and check if the problem still remains.. I guess that should be possible with the Logitech drivers, since the g5 normally has a rate of 500hz (or? ) .
no
I'm pretty sure now that the mouse is broken. Really annoying, but since I've buyed it just some days ago there is no problem to send it back (normally).
But there could be another problem. I guess the shop where I've buyed it, won't believe me that there is a problem with the mouse, since the defect is difficult to watch if you aren't playing a FPS
At least I haven't noticed any defects at the operating system...weird.
Law says that I'm allowed to send it back within 2 weeks WITHOUT giving any reason. But I won't get my money back, which I've payed for the dispatch (8 Euro ) And if I say that the mouse is broken and they can't find anything, they will send me the broken mouse back...vicious circle.
