@BBCmicro:
I really dunno what u were doing with those mouses to get them broken so easily.My mx510 buttons were slammed,and the mouse itself has fallen at least 10 times in first month cause i had some wire position problems cause of desk and i would always accidently pull the wire down which slammed the mouse with fast speed on the floor,from 1 meter height...the point is,it still works like a charm to this day.So,braking 3 mouses in such short period? Sometimes the problem lies in the user :]
I doubt it is me - the way I use them. I only press the buttons. Definitely do not mistreat them as cruelly as you treat yours! You should be pulled before the Mouse Abuse Board and have your goolies knackered! As I said, I have had cheaper mice whose buttons last...
I took the G5 apart and it is very flimsy inside. The contact switches are tiny plastic things with a little metal inside. They do not look durable. The left button switch does not have the 'click' of the right one - so it seems worn.
I soldered one of the good switches from my first MX510 onto the second one and am now using that. Feels okay but have a few issues I need to sort out. I'll likely go for the Habu or Deathadder.
I know not of this Sweden you speak of. Here in the North Pole we care only for ourselves, our seals and our polar bears.
Touche...
In the mystical Commie-land, we care only about our Vodka and our Brown Bears
On topic... I vote for neither, this mouse is really good, it has buttons so i can click them and a wheel, so it rocks, and it fits me as well, so i loves it, fuck the "cybertronic, 4-wheel, 52-button, changing colour by reading your mood by sensoring your hand temperature, supersensitive gaming mice that have AI, and can order pizza as soon as you get the munchies"
well i prefer my g5, but it fits better in my hand then the razor's. same shit diffrent colors xDD
I got a Microsoft Habu (A Razer Copperhead by another name with a few changes) mouse. I could not get a DeathAdder at a sensible price soon enough. I've used the Habu for a few days now and do not like it. The buttons/switches are not quite fast enough. The width at the front end is too wide for my liking and I find my ring finger stops the switch from depressing (it seems to work on release not pressing). I would have to change the way I change weapons and I do not fancy doing that. I have a replacement G5 coming in a few days courtesy of Logitech support. I''ll treat the Habu as a spare.
The G5 switches are faster but less positive than the Habu whose switches have a nice solid click. Maybe this is why the G5 switches do not last me too long - either speed or durability.
The Habu is a nice mouse. It seems well made with its changeable side switches and spare Teflon feet. It is fast and I could not make it skip. The Configurator gives lots of control over how the mouse works and in some ways more than Logitech's Setpoint.
DeathAdder ordered, along with a whole bunch of other stuff though so in case something's not in stock it may take a while to get
u cant compare the habu with the copperhead. its a total different feeling. i tested the habu in store, definetly not comparable.

Not having tried a Copperhead (weird meaning in UK...) I cannot say. I can say that some Habu users are using the Copperhead drivers and firmware with the Habu which is made by Razer - so the innards must be very much alike. Likely this it is the 'cosmetics' (eg dpi buttons on Habu) which are slightly different. I note too that the laser is set farther back on the Habu - smaller arc of movement for the wrist.
I got my G5 replacement today and so will us e that shortly. I want to give the Habu a chance. But I am having a problem getting it to behave properly. I can't get it to feel right; it is either too loose or too tight. Maybe the Copperhead is better. Certainly the skipping reports are better for Habu than Copperhead - esreality.com
just said it is different feeling, ment with than "in hand", and are on that way not comparable.
Heh if I had money I'd buy Logitech, but since I'm broke I have a Labtec Optical Mouse.
