"Lost" thread
I disagree with bo. I lost interest in Lost during the second season when I watched it from television. There were two or three episodes which didn't seem to take the story anywhere. But third season is different. I've watched it in faster cycle from internet downloads. In the third season every episode takes the story further. In third season there has been only one episode which didn't take the story anywhere. IMO the fact that there are same people on that island trough the whole serie can't be the reason why the Lost sucks because then ALL tv-series would suck. Let's face it, in every tv-serie there the same main characters which you have to follow from the beginning to the end. Those people usually work in same hospital (ER), same police station (NYPD Blue), live in same building (Friends) or in same small town (Simpsons/Twin Peaks/Northern Exposure/3rd Rock from the Sun/etc.). In Lost there are considerable amount of people, I think there are more people than tv-series have in general and new characters are getting there all the time. Striking thing is that main characters seem to die during the show or then they just go away. So it gives a feeling that you really never know what's going to happen. I read from some magazine an interview of one of the actors of Lost and he said that even the actors don't know when they are going to die/go away from the serie. They are allowed to see the scripts of only few episodes ahead.
WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD! If you haven't yet seen the third season of Lost, don't look further because there are spoilers ahead.
When I've watched the Lost I've first time got this feeling that tv-serie tries to say something more. I feel like it tries give some message which is bigger than tv-series normally have. I may be wrong but when I watch the story and see where it's going, I feel like it tries to solve some big mystery behind of mankind. In the end of third season (haven't seen the final episode yet) it's clear that the mystery of the 'others' is just the beginning. The others don't know why that island has such healing powers, etc, they don't seem to know much about anything. It has been stated that all passengers of that Oceanic flight 815 have already died in the world from which they left from. Their bodies and planewreck have been found from the bottom of the ocean. The others have come to the island with submarine. So - it raises questions. Is that island on the face of the earth? Or under it? Is it some kind of Atlantis? Or is it hell? Are all those people already dead in real life and they are on their way to heaven/hell/whatever?
When you think you got explanationg to everything, you find that it just doesn't cover all the mysteries.
I find it intriguing.
I really hope though that the final solution isn't the one which has been suggested in one episode of the second season. In that episode it suggested that everything on that island aren't really happening, they are just some ideas in Hurley's head while he is in coma in some mental institute. It would really suck if that was the explanationg to everything. In that case I would hate myself that I spend so many hours with the show.
Thaths the point of Lost its to make you guess, people have so many theories on wats going on.
Its a great show to watch while smoking with friends.
Is that island on the face of the earth? Or under it? Is it some kind of Atlantis? Or is it hell?
i`m just gonna reply on this. Imo they will say it was smth like a parallel dimension. U know smth like the Bermuda triangle.
they are hooked into... THE MATRIX!
SHOCK HORROR SCANDAL
well they said the island has some very abnormal electromagnetic vibes (remember the "button" Dharma station that exploded?) so this triangle theory is very plausible. Maybe they had figured out the only way to get in and out of the triangle thus Michael being able to get out (i remember Ben giving specific sailing coordinates to Michael). Also since the "button" station exploded it looks like they cant communicate with the outside world anymore (hm EMP maybe?).
Anyways maybe we should split this into a "Lost" topic and then u won't have to stop Allison
ok then, MAAAAAAAAAAAAAD u have a request here, pls split this into a new "Lost" topic
2 requests already ^^
later edit: \ Mad.
well the season 3 finale is on right now... i'll watch it in a couple days... but there is so much going on, i just want to see how the people die.
LOL @ hurley in a coma and everything is in his head... thats how all my stories/essays in my English Literature school work finished 'it was all a dream and i woke up'
but it is really funny because the writers read a lot of the discussions on the internet and just put it in the series. I think they have a skeleton story line and just make up the rest as they go along with 1 formula...
answer 1 question with 3 more questions, and somehow link the people with their past
the real storyline is going on in the background, and we wont see it till the final few eps in the last season where they have flashbacks to when they were on the island in the previous seasons.
i think the storyline does have a red line in itself. and all this events with the different charackters is for the purpose of become engrossed in. i think we all have some lost charackter we can define with eh?
Once we getting know them a little bit
ehmr.. im allready lost.. i missed the second season of lost. so i dunno. well ahr nevermind.. im still in the mist.
But i think there is something great they have to deal with. But first we have to understand who they are and how they think like.. so the decision they gonna make can for the unwitting make no sense.
i have a great deal with put my mind into a perfectly good sens of this whole Lost-hypocrisy :pukeright:
ajajaja.. Its for the cause of her i still watching lost
iam fucking it. I never saw it. I hate similar commercial shits like dancing, superstars, tv serials...
No way! :bounce:
But they may be in some kind of bermuda triangle. There is Dragon's Triangle near Japan which is similar as bermuda.
Someone has already figured out where the 815 crashed: http://thelostmeister.blogspot.com/2007/05...
I wonder if there is some triangle on that spot.
Only thing which bothers me in this triangle theory is that the Others let Michael sail off the island with his son. He just left with some sailboat. If the triangle theory is true it just doesn't fit the fact that the others had to come there with submarine and rest of the people had to crash with aeroplanes and helicopters to get there. Hmm.. how can you get out of the triangle? Is it possible with sailboat? :rabbit:
This is too weird. I have to stop now. Sorry. 8-[
