Mouse self shooting

as far as i know, in_mouse 1 has a 1 frame delay (8 msec if u play on 125 fps)I didnt say any side effects because they are never the same for everyone and u cannot generalize them by copy pasting some article. Each hardware setup will react and behave diffeerent. I could for example flush that theory immediatly down the toilet because there are NO side effects on my setup, nor do I feel any delay.
Im sure the person who was problems with this is wise enough to recognize the side effects and then make a decision are the side effects a bigger issue than the original problem and which of those 2 is worth "living with".
see?
if u dont know if there are side effects, tell them
Sorry to revive this topic, but I know more than a few ppl who have had this issue. Sometimes it can be corrected by changes to the mouse software (i.e., Logitech's SetPoint), or by suggestions like LemRatz's, but sometimes the issue is hardware related (usually a failing or substandard USB controller) and can only be corrected by a replacement USB add-in card.
Hey
you could check this one like you say here!

I have tryed Diffrent Soft Prog, in_mouse 0,1, and rate 500hz and i still gett the sticky auto shoot sometimes, just sometimes not that offend theese days like before (: Then i changed to USB add-in card and it seems to work 100 procent flawless
Good Luck!!!

wow, that's an amazing quote... i would say it is ventriloquism, but i'm not sure how that would work between wasp.killer and vodevil...
anyway, what is this USB add-in card thing... is it extra hardware?
i've always used the in_mouse -1 solution.

wont work because the keep shooting is created due to a buffer overflow of q3 engine normally.

Yas, I agree. I also would like to know how he managed to attribute my quote to someone else.

The hardware defect is usually the least likely problem but I have personally seen two gaming systems with crappy/failing USB controllers (one integrated on an ASUS Maninboard and the other with a 3 port PCI USB card). Both systems had great mice - Logitech G5 and Razer Diamondback - and both had the same stupid problem, the mouse shooting by itself periodically during games. Both players tried all the solutions above and were only able to resolve their problem with replacement USB Controllers like these:
so far as i know, the bug i caused by q3 being way more sensitive then tons of other games to the usb port.
might be that an extra usb card lowers cpu useage for example, because normally its like as more stable the fps = as less keep shooting bugs.
My FPS NEVER fall below 125, yet when I set the mouse polling rate to 1000Hz I have the keep shooting bug once every 10 shots....
Remember that when Q3 came out USB was @ v1.1 so there probably is an incompatibility with certain controllers and/or high polling rates...

nope, bug is on software side.
1000 hz creates buffer overflows and q3 is sensitive to that.
what i am talking about is on 500 hz, with lowfps u rahter get th ekeep shooting bug as with stable 125.
nope, bug is on software side.
I never said it wasn't
I just said q3 is probably not tuned to work good with high polling rates and certain USB controllers...
