i had similar problems, check ur voltages with Everest or similar soft.

thx for information, on my power supply stands switching power supply, so i guess i dont have an ups ;d
but that wouldnt fit as the problem, cuz then my pc would crash on doom3 etc too O_o

Depends on quality! My UPS is a 5 year one. It not only protects your computer from powerloss, it also kills the powerspikes!

Iz with capacity I ment it doesnt provide u power very long after u lose power from the grid or city network.Its purpose is to enable u to safely shutdown computer via normal process [start-turn off] and not to experience violent shutdown when u lose power in building.Some can provide u with power 5-10 min after u lose power,some high quality UPS 30 minutes or more.

Thought u reffered to battery lifetime ...
Still It protects you from powerspikes and falls too.

anyways i might found the bug.
just while chatting with korgath, my mouse stopped , ipressed ctrl+alt+entf and woops it showed that msgsrv32.exe in the windows system folder crushed. 
does this might help?
edit: mouse blocked after it, still i can use keyboard
