Pc startup problem
guys, your answer are as senseless as possible.
our person has obviously a broken pc, as mentioned already, starting ur pc with only mobo,cpu,psu,ram,gfx is smallest configuration. If your screen keeps black while only having those equipped you got a major damage somewhere. Only thing left then is to test the single components, first to test is gfx obviously. If gfx is ok, motherboard is probably broken and other way round.
Sounds like a new pc to me tbh.
There is something very important which is that once you stand on the ground with nacked feets while touching the PC, your body becomes the surge for any over flown electriciy, it also start working as a conductor between the positive current and the negatvie one between earth and your PC, which leads to hardware damage!
This is actually true, I worked in an electronic components lab and we were all obliged to wear anti static shoes not to damage any machine. Depends on what you're intending to touch but yeah, some components won't even resist to the eletricity you're constantly flowing.

idk why u are so much desinformed then, the ESD protection works opposite way as u describe, all employers are "grounded" to discharge electricity from their body. U know i also worked with electronic parts ;}
but hey if u planing to touch a pcb on working pc then yes better wear yours shoes because if u will be grounded then u will experience a electric shock :ASD aside of course touching a plugged in pc parts is asking for troubles itself
Well there used to be a single beep when it worked but now nothing. No white text or anything just black screen.
Check your powersupply, and check the power cables which are connected to the VGA card and the mainboard........ you would probably need to change that as this sounds like your PC is working fine as you say that you here the noise (the fans running) but no screen shows up nor any beeps!
Other suggestion would be the VGA card, it could be dead by now, but as you described your issue and how it began and how it kept getting worse, the most probable thing is the RAMs so check them please and do so as I described earlier before, if you have only 1 try to borrow another and check it....
Though no beeps can not mean RAMs, but mostly no beeps means your bios chip is dead!
Keep us updated

+1 This is what i would do. And if it works after the smallest configuration just start adding other stuffs, hdds, cd/dvd, etc... my random guess is: PSU fault .
Have you done any configuration changes lately? anyway gl hf :]
Every time i had a problem with my pc i was able to fix it, i dont know if i was lucky or else. And google/internet always helped me. (my invisible pal)
P.s. There is a difference between black screen and "black screen/no-signal" which one you have?
