hey guys,
i may buy a new pc soon. tell me what ya think of it:
MSI K9A2 CF-F MB
AMD athlon x2 5400+ CPPU
2x Kingston DDR2 hyperx 1gb 800mhz RAM
250GB SATA-II Seagate HDD
radeon hd 3870 512mb GFX
450Watt be quiet
best regards, dirty
ps. i know intel > amd atm but i want amd!
Consider gigabyte boards on 790X or FX chipsets, they really have the least problems.Do u intend to overclock? If yes, black edition or BE cpus have fully unlocked multiplier and can clock pretty well, same as crucial ballistix ram or OCZ platinum.Rest of your conf is very similar to what im getting.
Intel platform is much more profitable now, but as far as I see you are some kind of AMD fanboy, better say how much cash you got for it and we'll see what's possible to do. And basic question, do you gonna overclock?
looks very very nice infact i am damn jealous
maybe i might switch from laptops to desktops now
ok i just need little help with these peices
let me know wat ones are better
PSU : Antec True Power Trio 550w PSU
or
Antec Neo 550w PSU 80mm Low Noise Fan
GFX :
XFX GeForce 8800GT 512MB
or
GeForce 8800GT 512MB PCIe
An does anyone know if this case is good with ATX motherboards Thermaltake Shark Black Aluminium Tower Case
For the Phenom 9500 Quad Core.
i recommend to use a corsair, fortron, tagan or chieftec PSU
Gigabyte has 3 versions of its 790 chipset boards:
MA790X DS4 - 1xpci-e 16x or 2xPCI-E (if u use crossfire),and chipset cooling is not solved that good as it is on more expencive models, but this shouldnt matter cause I saw ppl got better overclocks with this board then with more expencive DS5.
MA790FX DS5 - same chipset cooling as the most expencive DQ6,2xPCI-E 16x if u use crossfire
MA790FX DQ6 - most expencive model,quad CF support for 4 cards (pci-e 16x),bert can give u input on this one,he owns it.
DS4 is 110 euro where I live, and Im getting that one.
For PSU I recommend corsair hx520W (this one will go in my new rig) or coolermaster real power models, both are modular and perform excellent, top quality.
Lol there are milions of cheaper and better PSU than Zack said. The best choise for now is Corsair 520HX.
And at least say if you wanna overclock.

thermaltake shark has 2 extra drive bays so is a bit taller than most atx cases on the market, im gonna get one one day
well my prob is that i really haven't a lot of money and the MSI board is cheaper then the gigabyte, but has kinda same features. only biiiig plus for gigabyte is imo the 6 years guarantee :!:
the money that i wanna spend is about 500-600€. i work in a pc-store so i get everything for Purchase Price + Tax
