i have seen people loose 8 sticks of memory garantueed to work on 2.35 volts. they used no more then 2.2 volt.
others run it at 2.5 for a year without problems, its a game of chance.

Even 2.1v on memory rated as 2.2v Big grin But ppl make their own choices,I will always listen to more experienced ppl then me,if it wasnt for bert,i would be swimming in dead hardware very soon.

Btw if u compare 5000+ BE with E8400,intel is 100% more expencive and offers arround 30% performance increase when u clock both.Do u consider that a good investment flex and oskaliber?

Uhm, I'd like to see it

5000+ BE // 65nm technology, 1MB L2 cache, FSB 1000, lower overclocking
E8400 // 45nm technology, 6MB L2 cache, FSB 1333, really nice overclocking

Do you see the difference? Happy There is nothing for free.

I see the difference...avg of 3.2 GHz clock for 5000+ BE vs avg of 4.5 GHz on E8400? We are talking air cooling ofc...i see a price difference of 100% and clock difference of much less then that. Not to mention in highest demanding games like crysis u barely notice the difference.

clock doesnt matter.
the E8400 is a perfect cpu

do you have a 8400 simpson? im realy curious about the temperature of it when quake3 runs.
and also when this cpu is at idle, can you turn off the blower ?
and how hot does it get when you run prime on both cores at 1100 mhz without forced cooling?

Don't talk about E8400 like about radiator Happy It's normal CPU, not going as hot as you are talking, but its not especially cold too.

im asking, not judging. im not saying it gets hot.
i have worked alot to get my computer running at 67 idle.
i can run 75 watt powerconsumption in quake3, no framedrops.
i just wonder what intel would do.
but my estimation is that your intel system will do 150 watt, maybe even 200watt.
thats why i ask, im so curious about intel and its powerconsumption against performance.
