Powerups?

my biggest complaint is i think quad is too strong.. but i love the battlesuit..
well maybe armor respawn is too fast aswell, having 600+ armor should be a really hard-to-achieve bonus, but atm every second player on beer.freeze is running around with it (including me)..
also i miss the healthkit, what happened to it?

i forgot the most important: any chance to lower the annoying quad damage sounds (the echo stuff)? they are the main reason i never pick up quad.

I asked whats yr arguments that ppl should use yr "powerups cfg" than playing Urt, Unreal, Warsow etc? U sayd powerups force ppl to move but its wery weak argument since as i already sayd i dont see the difference ppl move more or not. Now nub with powerup can easily kill "pro" players and "pro" players with powerups become gods like. Now accurate aiming is not rewarded anymore. Only difference in moving is ppl run away from owerpowered enemy thts all

Powerups have become even more of a handicap, for me at least. Even though many on a map may use them, I can’t bring myself to do so, it does against my sense of fighting spirit. Sure ill Although E+ comes in many guises and there is kind of no true cfg, the thing that attracted me to E+ (mullder’s bro style)was the clean instant frags.
From day one using quad was not for me, and I’ve been around long enough to know that most form that time would agree now and then. Hell most dropped quad if they picked it up by mistake.

I guess times change, and I’ve probably been playing quake way too long, and just miss the good old days (I know, yawn).
I have great respect anyone taking time and effort to try and improve things, doubly so if its HQ, but for me it’s a wrong turn. Sure anyone with any self respect hates a camper, but I don’t think adding more light to an already well decorated tree make for more fun. (Look I’m getting festive already) Happy And movement filled game. Anyway Its all Just some imo stuff.
For me the perfect cfg would be.

No lg hate that friggin gun.
Much less bfg splash damage.
Lower power plasma.
Nice fast switch, to combat the spineless sub humans that use scripts. (Don’t know if this is still relevant I’ve been busy for a while)
Zero powerups, apart from maybe health bubbles.

infact now i think about it more like Bro.cfg with faster switch Cool

Answered on that couple of times, it sensless to repeat myslef while it feels people do ignore what i am saying all the time.

Don't get me wrong every post negative or positive is important for me, on these posts are based most of the changes, and it is hell a lot of the help for me
But dont expect ill adapt the cfg taking every sugestion, i need to find out where sum of all oposite tips going. Or even made some morronic changes to discove if they are worth something.

I voted for powerups. I really like this system, that is using on beerfreezer atm. IMO powerups really force ppl to move, but u can see this only on cw (or fw). Public games have never been too campy (id say spammy - yes, campy - no) .
On cw, for example, Clan A wins by 1 point to Clan B. Clan A gather on YA at dm7 and starts spamming 2 entrances. (they can move inside room => no Camper Alert). Without powerups - its very hard to get them there. cos u cant enter YA (cos of spam). Also attacking with 4 (5) players in 1 time is almost impossible since only 2 entrances. Without powerups clan A can sit there long long time. With powerups Clan B can eat all armors etc and rush then.

Imo powerups are more like camping gives disadvangtage.
Also cant get that thing about 'picking armors is unfair' Worried its like 'picking armors in ql is unfair! why do i have only MG on start and my enemy has all weaps + 200/200) powerups just produces a bit other gamestyle. More tactical. Also good point that they arent that strong - so u can survive without them.

Yep agree with everything said there. Battlesuit is ok but armour respawn should be slower.
Oh, and a big :thumbright: for the healthloss idea.

Personally i don't like any powerups. FOR ME Winking it isn't in excessive style - excessive for me is when you have 30 hp and you based on your speed and your brilliance to catch healthly enemy, not waiting or running on whole map to gain health. Also it isn't so excessive kill by shootgun from second side of map or by three mashingun's bullets:( . I hope that we'll play without them Happy but keep going with making powerups as best as possible Winking
