Q3 doesn't run

Hey,
after I installed TuneUp and used the features my q3 doesn't work anymore.
Everytime i start Q3 appears this message.
and ehh..maybe it's Steam. Is Steam able to cause such a problem?

weist du was du genau bei tuneup gemacht hast .. also nach welchen feature es auftrat?

What is tuneup? the 'optimization' software?

Hi friendly guy ,
ye tuneup is a os performance optimizer programm ( software side ). but its not bad use it too, makes system running littlebit faster.
ps: i dont resent you for the happening, maybe you only had a bad day, dunno, hope so.

also ich nutze auch tuneup und hatte das prob bei quake3 auf meinem alten pc auch, da half nur die tuneup optimierungen rückgängig machen mit rescue center ( und dann geziehlt einzeln optimieren ) dann siehste wo es dran liegt . bei meinem neuen gaming pc läuft tuneup 2009 mit quake 3 komischerweise völlig problem los.

Dont trust optimization programs: If PC is crap,then its crap.Maybe you'll feel some boost in first day..but after- same crap.
Optimization programs like this one,or Registry repair or like many many others.. can eat files that they think are useless. One of that deleted files can be some important q3 .dll
The thing that killer's q3 works fine,and your's - not .. can be cuz of the different q3 versions

hmmm.. 
if ur comp is slow i could send somehow a tweaked windows XP s.p 2 that works very fast and w/o errors.I use it myself. the ISO file is 200 mb.Looks like Vista, doesnt eat RAM at all.. pm me.

ah no no no no.... in this point your wrong my friend, if you do it right the combination XP optimizer and tuneup 2009 , makes your os really running damn faster ( if you have big fast pc it doesnt matter so much but littlebit, but if you have older pc you will feel the turboboost ) .
ye thats true it is a risk, they can delete / deactivate some needed os funktions and than some programms dont run well , but that happen really less.
i dunno the reason anymore , i found it on my old pc , but its to long time ago, cant remember what the reason was ( but defenitly it was a os funktion that was disabled by the tuneup that makes q3 not running ) .
ps: thx , but no need for it , my pc is a rocket, dualcore and its already overclocked too

hm , dann kanns eigentlich an tune up auch net liegen, weil rescue center ausnahmlos alle sachen rückgängig macht , dann sollteste einfach mal q3 neu installieren oder dir ne andere version ziehen .
mit steam kenn ich mich net aus, kann ich dir nix zusagen sry. schmeiss es halt auch runter und guck obs dann wieder geht.

könnte es im zusammenhang mit steam sein? denn an dem selben tag habe ich auch Steam installiert.
