Q3 doesn't run
Einz zwei polizei, nur fir ofizir, eine kleine pumpernikel.
Hey, I wish we all spoke the language of Narnia. but unfortunately, you're a jew, and I'm a Berenstain bear fan...
do not know if you fixed your problem however I would suggest reinstalling Q3. It looks like tuneup changed or possibly got rid of something Q3 needs. (of course, there are many other things that could have happened.) I do not believe it has anything to do with the graphic drivers or a openGL extension because you would usually get an error in the q3 console. Is there by any chance a ram 'optimization' in tuneup?
I do not use 'optimization' programs. When i was a kid and believed in fairy tails, yeah, but even then i didn't expect my P1 to run like a p350239850329520 from the year 5 billion AD. That was when I was 10 of course.
I'd rather suggest Hijackthis, spybot search and destroy, CCleaner, Defraggler and a good look in your services disabling what you do not need however, that is really minuscule. Yes, there are pirated performance editions of XP floating around out there which work quite well.
Also if you think steam is the problem, you could install via the 1.32b release, then just drop the pak0.pk3 file in your baseq3 folder. pak0.pk3 is the only actual file you need from the retail cd to have a fully functioning quake 3 install.

hey dude , maybe but only maybe, i remembered what the fucking prob was, ( it was not tune up ) do you have windows xp and after that service pack 3 installed ? service pack 3 can be responsible for that games or progs dont run well , too. so if you have service pack 3 installed, try to kick that bitch out of you system, think that was the error bc of that i got same message like you.
hm , its real hard to help you without seeing or knowing what you all have done, maybe best thing is that you reinstall windows one last time again and than do none of the things that maybe did the error, so no tune up no new graphic driver etc .
I already tried to reinstall Q3 ...
I had this problem like 2 or 3 times but to solve that problem i just reinstalled windows. I tired of doing that again.
I remember i installed a new ATI driver and henceforward appeared an OpenGL Error or sth. like that. After that I installed the old driver but I still had the same problem. At the end I used TuneUp and fucked q3 completely.
