Re: Rage patched and rocks (for me)

I've read about some config settings which could normalize graphic, but i'm not sure.

Quote:
1. Create a shortcut and type:
+cvaradd g_fov 12 +com_allowconsole 1 +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +image_anisotropy 16 +image_usecompression 0 +g_showplayershadow 1 +m_smooth 0

2. Create a file rageconfig.cfg в Rage/base/ type & download:

vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly2 8192
vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly 8192
vt_pageimagesizeunique 8192
vt_pageimagesizevmtr 8192

3. Follow C:UsersUserNameAppDataLocal and create a folder "id software". Inside - folder "rage". (without quotes ofc)

4. Enjoy!

It was before patch. And interesting, if this patch is enough. I mean without video card driver.

After the patch this settings became meaningless, at least to me.

So many people, apparently born about four years ago, don't realize that the post-apocalyptic genre existed before Borderlands or Fallout.

Comparing the latest game in an established genre to the last game that came out in that genre is not interesting or insightful.

"Oh this new racing game reminds me of the last racing game that I played. "

So what??? Who cares?
IF you were literally born two years ago, then Borderlands might seem "ground breaking", but if you think for a minute, you'd realize it is just ANOTHER shooting game set in the post-apocalypse, with Diablo style loot.

Furthermore, peoples attention span doesn't really last long these days. I'm surprise they even remember Fallout and Borderlands.

wow qordis, ure hostile.
I didn't claim borderlands is groundbreaking, but that it's similar to rage. you just said "they are completely different" and posted a screenshot of Rage and a PROMO DRAWING of Borderlands then your all offensive towards me.

Your just another teenage fanboy who likes shiny grafiks and ur goin to forget this game in a month!

Actually i could be ur father (theoretically, take your age x2), but nevermind, i play id-games actually since 1993. This were just quotes from other forums since i had no time to write it by myself in a better manner. I had no intention to offend you. I was just a bit annoyed about the comparison, since there is often a similiar game in most cases.

Re: Rage patched and rocks (for me)

I received the game two days ago (the release date in France). The game periodically freeze for few seconds. Changing the graphics settings dont change anything about this freeze.
I'm running Rage under Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bits and with :

ASUS ATI HD6950 2GB
AMD Phenom II X2 550
Kingston Hyper-X 4 GB 1800 Mhz

I tried all patchs, desinstalled drivers, reinstalled it, making many rageconfig.cfg try. Nothing worked.
It seems that my configuration is fully supported by the game but I don't know why this freeze.
I'll change my cpu for a AMD Phenom II X6 1100T to see if its about the cpu (like in Civ. V).

sry, no idea. But it shouldn't be the processor, too. I wouldn't buy now a new Phenom II, soon there will be the bulldozer series. If u have normal hard drive, you could try to run on it, if it works from it, u know it is the ssd, but i can't imagine it is the ssd.
