Mmmm, well... let me start off by saying I have a lot of friends playing E+, and I play to be with those friends, and I guess I like playing E+ well enough. I also play other mods, CPMA, OSP, RA3, etc. I don't particularly want to change my style of playing from mod to mod for the obvious reasons... actually I decided awhile ago that I would play E+ the same way I'd play in CPMA, or any other mod, except for whatever comes natural in the E+ environment, of course.

I'm quite tired of every time I shaft (err electrocute..) someone with LG, or melt them with PG they call me lamer, or spammer. Does no one remember in baseq3, and the majority of other Quake 3 mods that LG is one of the most used weapons in the game? Actually, LG and PG are a couple of the most skill requiring weapons in the game. I would also say RG, but in the case of E+ rail being fast reload (less than 1.5sec reload.. sometimes less than 1sec), insta-gib, unlagged, and the default 1.0 hitbox being somewhat over sized (vertically speaking the hitbox should start at the torso!) I'd be inclined to say it's the easy weapon.... why else would it be the preferred weapon among most players of the mod?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to dump on the mod, it is what it is, and that's fine... it's great for what it is. If I hated E+, I simply wouldn't play it at all. It's really not the mod that frustrates me. It's the players so short sighted or just plain inexperienced in Quake 3 outside of this mod, that they think the way E+ is played is what Quake 3 is about, when in fact it's actually somewhat of an oddball in the world of Quake. But I mean... if I frag someone with LG with accuracy and precision anywhere else the response I would get would be more like "n1!" or "man, that was nice!" (if a comment were made at all)... not "Boo hoo hoo, spammer, lamer whore". And really, if you guys dislike LG, PG, or even MG so much, why have them in the weapons list at all?

I'd simply like to be able to play like a traditional Quake player win or loose, and not have to deal with being cussed at, or kicked from servers over not fitting the mold of the typical rail / bfg slinging E+ player (haven't actually happened yet, but I got the impression 2slow was itching to kick me from the server the other night). I use strafe jumps and rocket jumps opposed to bfg/nade jumps most of the time, and I do use LG and PG like all Quakers outside of E+ do.... SO WHAT?!? Why do I get talked to like what I'm doing is wrong? Tell me, how is it skill-less spam when at the end of the game I come out with 45% - 65% accuracy with these less-than-popular weapons?
