[Resolved] Controlled teleport?
It would be too kind if at least one of the privileged people who "see something" in these demos to tell to the ordinary folk what they see.
I know that anti-wh doesn't apply for spectators. I thought it was from the start like that. At least from what i noticed. There were few wallhackers recently like "alucard" or some other guy i recorded demo on ctf. Clearly wallhack and i wonder how is it possible cause both don't seem to have too much clue though alucard has programming skills from what i heard.
And the teleport thing. Watch "wtf3" and nearly at the end (after he is thawed near rocket) put timescale to 0.1. Player is dragged in x/y coordinates.
ah now I see ^^
yes, looking really odd now
maybe some developer of E+ would comment on that or Violence himself, creator of this ioquake3 modification, maybe its some glitch on his server version rather than on E+ mod itself.
btw it looking like saved position, like he binds up some coordinates in his cfg to teleport right there on the safest position on that map
maybe he is using some bug on the mod for the 'origin' coordinates that are used for example by .ents files to modify the items placement, but he triggers somehow his 'personal teleport' like item, but it doesnt produce any effect by using that item at all.
Anyway great catch and an eye, GJ

Okay, i dare to forgive you this time.
More likely an exploit than a random glitch. If he/she knows the >safest< place to warp then there is also more to it. Maybe he/she got the locations manually from the map/ents files or it's feeding it from the spawns in the map file.
The personal teleporter item does instant warp.
But out of curiousity. How does the teleporting on the e+ portal server work? Never checked it. Instant or also player->x/y ++ ?

Are you talking about the player recorded in 1st person or somebody else? These "dragging" effects can occur due to lags and client-/server-prediction.

1st person @ bender, if you didnt noticed it, then use /timescale .1 and you'll see it, then you wont miss it with timescale 1 anymore
cg_drawTimer 1
and with timescale higher than 1
skip to the 14:36
it's exactly the time when this occurrence occur on smashwtf3_0.dm_68
demo.
I watched the named demo completely at timescale 0.1 and haven't noticed anything. Are you watching the demo with xp_delagDemo
on or off?
checked, it doesnt matter if its 0 or 1, with both its still visible.
dunno if this was what ive experienced, dont have proof and cant remember what servers but quite a few times i've spawned and then suddenly been 'respawned' or teleported somewhere else on the map. thought it was random but never cared to question it. so, just saying, its probably not the player doing it on purpose (or even having control over it).
