Server Kicks for Unpure

Everytime i enable pure on my server, it kicks everyone for invalid pk3's.
Help Sad

Why be so suprised, alot of people have stuff like zzz, z6 or whatever kind of stuff in their q3. And visiting weird servers with auto enable also helps gaining goodies.

If you don't want people to get kicked, you'd need to upload all that stuff to the server.

to run quake(e+)

all you need is
/q3/baseq3/
pak0.pk3
pak1.pk3
pak2.pk3
pak3.pk3
pak4.pk3
pak5.pk3
pak6.pk3
pak7.pk3
pak8.pk3

/q3/e+/
pak0.pk3
pak3.pk3

and any map paks, though i would try conecting with just the correct paks for a start reno.

edit:yep seth reminds me, also add or change to this in your cfg

cl_allowDownload "0"

Well I for one can play on the 2!S servers, including during a clan war and still got kicked from our server when pure comes on - I only have maps in my bq3 folder... Shock

no man my Q3 is totally pure and it still kicks me.

@ Wax i have those exact PK3's uploaded to the server but still problems Love struck

idiots.
pure just doesnt allow clients to load the extra zzz etc stuff, not needed to have them on serv.
in other way server can have extra maps etc client doesnt need.
just if u got special game pk3s, client need them.
i think it was the simple pure bug, that u have to change map/rotate for pure.

not really, there is a reason why mad posted the story with teh search buttonz and if u look close, wax is even moderator.
giving infos without knowing what ur talking about is the mistake number1 u can do as mod.
a mod should be a shining example for all other people.

if people join a unpure server, they load all files like weaponmodels, etc. So, they are loaded, so, if u set pure in middle of game, they have also their legal stuff loaded, like weaponmodels, custommodels etc. Because the stuff is loaded, they get kicked. In this second they are unpure.

But if they leave q3 and than reconnect, than they can play again on that PURE server, because they are not able to load that pk3 (models for example). So, no load, no kick.

SO, people get kicked for unpure client, because u enable pure while they are online.
