So I bought Quake 3 last week.

Installed ExcessivePlus today...

and noticed all these sweet fading/color names that everyone seems to have.

What program do you guys use to make them?

in the excessiveplus folder you'll find somewhere a qname.exe file

fiddle with that till you find a name you like

then you have to make a .txt file

in the file put

seta name "name here within the"

save it as something simple like "test"

then go on server and open console and type /exec test.txt

I guess I did have one more quick question.

I can't figure out how everyone is doing that "spread" railgun shot. Is there a keybind that I missed somewhere?

Try out the shotgun. The effect it produces in e+ looks like what you're describing.

but I need my high speed murder death kill action to...

I'll check out the shotgun, it's always an overlooked weapon with me
