I started my project once again, this time I am doing everything from the beggining, trying to work with ASE models and GTK Radiant 1.1.1-RC3 & GTK Radiant 1.5.0, I see that ASE models dont behave as normal brushes, so I can rotate them without lossing textures cooridnates or angles etc.

I had to pause my project because of limitations of q3 engine, I wasnt able to make fully detailed STARGATES and other things, this time stargates will be simpler, but I hope a lot better, if my project work I will make some maps with stargates, ctf gametype will be playable the most, also I maybe I will publish all my work for map makers after I finish everything, files would be published on my website, so you will be able to download and edit the files.

My goal is to make first Quake III Arena Stargate Map Pack.

Here is my latest work
(behind the camera is the map, in building so you cant see it, but it looks nice believe me ^^)

Everything is now animated, whole sequence from start, idle to end is synchronised and animated, I was able to make animations mainly by the func_door entities, I suggeested for E+ mod to add spawnflags 32 to the func_door entity, so if enabled doors objects will not immit any sound, they will be muted, so you wont hear that annoying doors start & stop sounds.

My map does not require any mod, it is playable as a normal map, but only on latest E+ version doors will be muted, these are the entities that I am using for interactive moving objects.

I am keep rebuilding my maps & testing it every day, but seems that they wont be playable offline with bots, because I cant generate .ass file.

So I think that my maps will be playable only on the internet with humans or you could play alone or with friends on great & funny mod called 'Hunt' where (lets call them bots) will work there, cuz Hunt mod doesnt require .aas file.

Anyway keep visiting this thread, soon I will post more, maybe make special section a little site about my project, where I will publish all things.

I fixed my problem Happy

.aas for bots can be compiled, so I was suppose to make some sample map to show functionality of my stargates, but I think map that I am building now will be the first official sg map for my mappack.

Here it is, a sample Stargate map, HF

Remember that this is a sample map, it could be not playable anyway, can also have some glitches, bugs etc..

Also, only on newest version of E+ 2.0 map will use new feature for func_door entity that will mute any moving objects on the map, so If you are using old version you will hear moving doors sound each time, you can also replace both doors sound in your pak0.pk3 but I dont recommend that, you will be probably kicked by any puie servers Tongue

did you ask tub if you could use his designs... or anyone from frozen sands to use their assets?
