I dont know if anyone noticed, but since several weeks beer server is running on non-standard server side executable of ioq3 1.36 linux-i386 Apr 12 2009 which may makes some troubles for certain users and only for them
I had similar situation on RUS RAIL FREEZE server (it runs on ioq3 too, different version), the server reacted odd to me few times, it was always random, while I connected to it and simply played the game, the server made some weird thing with me...It started to lag me, I couldnt do anything, then it kicked me for some weird error by the server side, but the funny thing was that since I joined this server, I was like an ghost to everyone else
my scores were not counted up on the main scoreboard even if I fragged some peoples around, after the kick I always saw the server was FULL 24/24.

So did you've noticed something similar to that or after you were kicked the beer server was filled with maximum number of allowed players ?

I forgot to mention something, several weeks or months ago easy released e+ 2.3 client side only QVM files to test on his own servers along with anti wallhack feature...
All you had to do was to paste 2 qvm files into e+ directory, once I joined easy's servers I had info on bottom about current version and so on... but since I removed those files from e+ folder I didnt had those odd kicks from that server anymore.

So, are you sure you dont have any external .qvm files in your e+ folder, could someone gave you beta client side or so and you forgot about it, just check it

But on point here Johnin, cl_allowdownloads 1 not only enables you to download maps from servers but other little nuggets of shit (files) as well. So check for any recently modified files in your q3 folder.

wth is wrong with you since you spend so much time and power on these flamming posts xD btw, i think you have a good situation feeling sometimes, you know other peoples situation in and out by just owning 1 keyword of their mood or job they are doing right now xD hope you understand my english, this took some time for me too =)About your problem johnin, i kinda feel the same as you sometimes. when i join q3 e+ servers, i just do it by going to multiplayer and pickcing a server. The problem is, i use cl_allowdownload 1 and if i now fx. connect to some of the fancy servers on that list or vogon servers, then it always will download something, but i never read what it is becaause it happends so fast ive even tried to connect to a server where it downloaded zzz-models.pk3 which is a good advantage for some cheaters so i was scared I think maybe these files that i get from the different servers make troubles with newer or popular e+ servers. Especially on war servers with all kinda stuff enabled, ive never had 1 single game on these servers where it wouldnt crash or do something weird in-game my q3 1.32 mod with e+ is installed as every other quake ive installed so think there is nothing wrong with that

My Quake contains 421 pk3s with 3.39 GB - perfectly pure on every Server.
I also hit the maximum amount of pk3s once in past.
