US Open - Tennis
Can't stand that arrogant cunt.
And Federer is so nice and friendly.
I can't believe that Tommy Nubredo stole the pleasure from us of having another possible classic This match draws in pictures my previous talk about Federer - he played his first 3 matches on decent high level and today, against Robredo...(omfg) he looked like uninspired Safin who just wants to go home asap. Sad
Yes, I read the interview earlier. I watched the whole match. He wasn't playing on top level his last 3 matches also, but his performance today was beyond awful. I don't know what is happening in his head, but something is holding him up, that's for sure. Probably he is trying to find out what is the problem, but after all, his age talks preasure, the fact that he hasn't won any tournament for a year probably impacts his mental state big way. I'm really disappointed not to watch quarters between those 2 greats.
Nadal on the other hand, had far from perfect match too. He was struggling to convert every break point he had in the match. I don't remember the correct number of break points, I think it was above 20+. In the first set he was 6-5 up with 0-40 on Philip's server - blasted them all. His serving games were fine tho, only one break point allowed to Philip, successfully defended. Anyway, credit to Kohlschreiber, he had an excellent match and mental approach, especially the first two sets.
Looking forward to today's games from the top half
I've watched the shortened replay of the match this morning. I had the impression Murray just wanted to go back home and hide under his blanket as soon as possible. Awful choice of shots, disastrous forehand and his serve was beyond desperate.
Stats :
Not a single break point opportunity. Anyway, Stan the man played on very high level, very impressive performance from his side. Hopefully, he will give Nole some hard time so he will be exhausted for the final against Rafa
Stan painting the lines with his one handed backhand is pure SEX. Crazy good looking stuff, shades of Federer 2006-2009. Are you active on MTF by any chance?
I think I heard that over 50 times being said by the commentators on Eurosport Near the end they started going onto my nerves hah, it almost sounded like they were trying to take credit off Stan in their attempts to avoid accepting the fact that he is actually going to crush Andy(during the match). For a moment I thought that Murray plays against Federer, not Wawrinka Poor Eurosport squad, they take Andy's defeats too hard..
I had to search for 'MTF tennis' via google so I found out it is menstennisforum.com. So no, but I will sign up. I gave it a short skim-read and overlook on the topics, looks like an amusing place.
Btw, speaking of men's tennis, we forgot about Seren Williams. I think I would put all of my money on his victory in the finals against Azarenka, even though he lost the Cincinnati final against her 2 weeks ago. He is just too strong.
Nice to see some responses, Federers chances against Nadal are obviously slim. At this point in his career I'm not sure he has the energy to play best of 5, it's also contingent on his back not flaring up. That said, he has looked quite good the past 4-5 matches and seems to have regained his confidence. When he's on it's poetry in motion.
It's a shame though, that Nadal never made the latter stages of the hardcourt swing during Federers prime, and that theirs is such a mismatch of styles (coupled with the slower courts favouring Nadal the head-to-head is really not much to do anything about).
Haas-Youzhny yesterday was a thriller, some nice tennis & meltdowns with racket throwing on both sides. Djoko is having a cake-walk draw thus far.
