Win XP to sata hdd
wrote:You need to install from a Win XP sp2 cd and that will solve your problem.i installed it successfully from pure winXP professional (pure = without service packs) but only one ass is in free space which you can use ( <150GB). If you have a bigger hdd, you must use newer version of XP or after instalation install partition magic and resize partition
Yeah that's why i said you need to install from win xp sp2 cd that will save time and yo don't have to bother doing anything else, as for linux systems regarding to Sultan's commnet i use ubuntu and backtrakz both with beryl and yeah the eye candy is much more impressive than windows and with awesome performance.

RESPEKT.
backtrakz? what`s it? btw someday try gentoo, it will give even more performance and configurability. Of course, it can seem a lil' difficult and takes long time to compile if slower pc, but it`s very nice when you rule all your system.
I run gentoo on my old p4 1.7ghz was a pain in the ass to install and compile (specially cause i downloaded lots of packages with emerge so it took longer) but it is very stable Starless introduced me to that distro, as for Bactrack2 check some info here (it's used for vulnerability and security testing.).
mh what is about TrueImage ... just make a Backup of your whole windows hdd (old one) ... and put this backup on the new hdd, u dont need to install anything except TrueImage, it's a 1to1 mirrowing of hdd ... and oh yeah better burn TI CD cause u may need it while rebooting from the empty hdd, or you just put in the ata as slave and put the backup on while running win from old hdd.
