Guys, the 'new' website still sucks.
I remember when i first complained about it the most common response was "OMG LOL IT"S SO NEW WAIT IT'S STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION".
Well, now, some time has passed, and it's still this messy, clunky, slow, 1999 throwback. Does anyone seriously prefer this over the old design? Direct comparison time!
Look at that. Everything fits together, the design is simple but elegant. Navigation was simple and easy, website was fast. It didn't have the fancy features of this one (rich-text post mode, which is mostly useless, shoutbox integrated with the forum, which is mostly useless, blog space, which is nice, and a birthday tab awwwwwww, yeah...), but would it be really that hard to integrate these things into the old design?
Now this site:
Ugh. It's not hideous, but it looks like something that came pre-packaged with the forum space. There are some things that really annoy me, like that you cannot search by posts, that sig doesn't appear in some sub-forums, the new emoticons that look fugly. I still can't fathom why in the world would this change in design be made.
I MISS THE OLD FORUM BROS ;_;

The new website is disastrous, the old one (which I consider to be anno 1999) was just about perfect, albeit lacking some of the newer features. But it's all about readability, readablitiy and usability, current site fails in all. I discover new posts 2 weeks after they were posted, formatting is off in posts, italic button doesn't work - post resets/or messes up if you preview. And yes, the list goes on.
Also flags are ugly now.
100% agree especially -you cannot search by posts-
yes
hmmmm of cit can be more better and elegant and easy to manage,...but at the moment i dont think that devs have time to make a onotherwebsite desing...anyway i get used to this one...as the old one i dont remember :////
true is........is very slow ... very.....
wow
? wouldn't the old be slow if it had all the new stuff on it? you might as well just try to configure the new site to a older style, however it would be same speed. (and i like the chatbox <3 )
i like the old one and the new one (im not a designer) but i say that in the new one, we should at least have more features then the old one:P and not bugs that weren't in the old one ..
in the "Collection" thread are gathered lots of bugs on the website ... i offered to help with my web programmer experience but no one seems to do anything about anything related to the website issues left there maybe they work on them but very slow or something...
some bugs are kinda strange to still be here since they were discoverd since the 1st day of this new website .. and i mean for the comments pagination ( there are many threads that shows more pages then actualy are)
also its very hard to track an ip/class ip or an username without adding the GET parameters by yourself .. its not very intuitive this way..
searching by post is truly needed !!
also there should be moore features for this website that sustain : a gamers community with players/ clans/ competitions / events (a calendar? what about a clock?) / ranking (?) / players results history
not saying that the ranking we have now its bad but its still a temp rank .. when we will have an official ranking? or make this temp rank official. http://temp.excessiveplus.net/ => http://rank.excessiveplus.net/
im looking on other communities and i say there are many features that they have to assure a more easier access to the informations that others provide..
(user friendly)
and what happend with the webspace e+ used to provide for the clans websites?

The old forums was way better imo.
I do however like a few things on this new site i.e. - Recent posts recent blogs (thought that could be a bit better, like more info on those) shout box and the control panel under ur login.
Big step to improve site developement would be open the source and let community to introduce (with description) bug fixes and new style of the site to admins. So decision would be still up to them, but they wouldn't need so much time to solve problems by themselves. From expierience (styling/modifying phpBB scripts) I know that complicated project can't be left without working on it for such long time.
I predict same stagnation as with 1.03 because the code (locations, variables, etc.) needs to be learned from a scratch to introduce any change (especially when it comes to script bugs).
I have no idea, but it would certainly look better, that's for sure.
