I dont think that anyones concerns are what the data actualy is, the point that has been made is that a select few are able to access peoples private servers, and server owners have been unaware.
The fact that the whole thing now appears to be a covert operation, leads people to the assumption that there could be more going on.
Is there a similiar access to the client built in?

And the fact that the messengers of this soap getted shotted by forum moderators (who knew all about this) and getting generalized as cry kiddys makes me completly angry
And no i really dont have a clue if there is something for the clientside but i dont know what to think anymore

Actually they couldn't (not technically ) because in that case they break the law.

The goal does not justify the means. Well this isn't backdoor, but hiding such things is bad too.
When installing Debian GNU/Linux, installer asks users about collecting stats installed packets, not just sends info without permission.
When (Microsoft, Apple) software collecting info about users again without permission they break the law and many ppl wining cases in court in own benefit. (I almost read it every month in news.)
If just asks server holders about that stuff with anticheats I think they would not be against.

Exaggerated or not, they have their point and I don't blame them. When things are hidden, they have all the right to doubt and worry about their servers. Even Skull could have given them a better answer, explain them why cannot go public and let them know why it's harmless for them. I understand their reaction if Skull handled the situation like that. That's not the way of doing things. Just hope it doesn't go any further and they keep the server like it is, as I think is a great tool for the community. Only thing I can do, is hope it's in the right hands.

The issue was that you could use wallhack2 command if you knew rconpw skipping pbchecks. Since Rank can not trust all server admins, we had to shut rank down to not check every player in every mvd played at that time.

Wait so you could have distrusted some server admins so you shut down rank because the skilled and proficient coders of this mod left a potential wallhack2 command.Not only it's anally retentive to be able to find out this sort of information, it's extremely anally retentive to shut down rank because someone else might be as "extremely dedicated" to a bunch of cvars in this mod (Xd plz). Great that e+ beta team is helping failed CPMers feel important tho! Whats the difference between amphi and ctf anyways?
