Cl_maxpackets different of 125 should be forbidden. You set basic net settings rules, why trying to avoid it or tweaking it to get something more than your opponent?

By the way, I've found something interesting about your ping after we met on MR 1V1.
I tried to delay too my allowed bandwidth to Quake 3 and adding some jitter (not constant delay) and I get the advantages of a high ping without packetloss and with the same sync as low ping on the server. Maybe that's what you are using? Of course, no ACS or PB can check this. Unfair advantage, and faking a cheap internet provider. It's a bit like positive timenudge but more powerful. So my real ping is 50ms but I'm playing with 90ms without packetloss, thanks for the tip, Skull.

Watch out Delight.. a confidence means there still some tricks beyond your knowledge! try to PM Ultima he would probably teach you few important other stuff about advantages while playing against other players, but that is depending on the mood..

No, it isn't. It's the rounded half of 125 and the ideal number of packets for low-bandwidth connections.

i agree with d3light there no syncing between two players with different maxpackets
and maybe we need to think about remake the cfg

63 maxpackets is neither a hidden value nor a forbidden one. It is known since years, a lot of people took a look at netcode problems and optimal settings.
There is a reason why our servers do not run at 125 sv_fps, go look it up delight, maybe you will also stumble about a technical explaination of your thoughts.

Because right now, server sends 30 snaps/s to you no matter how many packets a client sends, 63 or 125.
