I use avira over 7 years and I have never had any bigger problem. However I know that it isnt a best antivirus. I plan to check avast.

You must be kidding. NOD32 is no more a good one.

no iam not kidding. Two months back in czech republic dtest (independent tester of stuff which is possible buy on czech market) did a big test of all antivirus programs. Norton was the worst antivirus software (about 20th position in final rank). AVG was about 15 position. Nod32 5th and avira 1st.

Real efficiency of software without veil of marketing makes unexpected results.

Dtest is paid so its not possible to see results for everyone. Just paing visitors can see final results of all tests. They are testing winter tires, digital cameras,baby-carriages,...

I was using NOD32 for the past 5 years (paying customer) but dropped it in January this year. This thing (version 5) got more bugs by the time and cost too much nerves. Connected an external hard-drive --> *ZING* system crash. Mounted a TrueCrypt volume --> *DANG* Windows frozen. I searched endless days for the root cause of these problems. Really a pain! I started using NOD32 since it was low on the CPU. This was the past! Nowadays NOD32 is nearly as worse as GDATA. Currently I'm using AVG, which I have on the laptop for 3 years now without a single problem. Many updates, no problems, all good.

I use already some about 6 years, Kaspersky Internet Security. Best antivirus ever.
