[bought] What do you think about this notebook?
overpriced af
Laptops are fragile
Some new ones have sort of sensor for fluid on KB, so if you flush laptop with fluid - good bye warranty.
But if you like it so much enjoy it your toy
Me personnaly preffer normal PCs. Big motherboard that i can upgrade CPU, big PSU, expandable RAM, and slots for additional sound card, cheap keyboard and mouse i can throw or repair, and UPS against power strikes
I guess you mean a PC here? Or another, cheaper notebook with the same parameters but cheaaper?
Talking about Notebooks and Hardware in general.
For Desktop PCs using a i7 is mostly a lie, games dont profit from extra threads in 99% of examples and most cant even use a quadcore properly. For a desktop a high clocked i5 Quadcore can cost a lot less. For notebooks this isn't the case.
As example, the game demands a Quadcore with 3.2ghz
However note the Details of the MSI homepage, it states up to 16gb, mostly this will be only 8gb. What I don't know is if they sell it with 2x4gb (which means u need to buy 2x8gb if u upgrade) or only 1x8gb and depending on the motherboard will only be singlechannel instead of dualchannel, wasting lots of ram bandwidth. (do notebooks even do dual? they should imo).
Similar stuff about the SSD, its listed as "Up to" so it basically will come without. And from my experience, 2.5" HDD of a NB will be 5400RPM one. Sure, it will do its job.
big PSU
Thats basically quite stupid, u need a PSU according to ur PC.
a gaming PC runs on 100w idle or less, modern PSU are 80+ certified. 80+ means it start being efficient on more then 20% load.
now do the math, ur gaming PC has 100w idle and peaks 500-520w (i had 590 with gtx560ti SLI on maxload) and u use a 550W 80+silver PSU, it does quite fine.
Buying a 1000W 80+gold causes the idle load still to be way under its comfort zone, which means ur efficency is for example only 60% - so if the pc takes 100 the PSU itself will take another 40W just cuz its too big. While the 80+silver would only take like ~16w and is a LOT cheaper.
Oh yes, how awesome that is I can only imagine. I really would like to buy a PC but I need a notebook more than a PC. Plain simple reason - mobility. I can take a notebook wherever I want, can't say the same about PC. I realize for the same price I can have a PC 10 times stronger but the mobility has it's price.
Ofc mobility has its price, but if ur really clever u can buy a quite good raming rig for 500€ or even less, depending on what performance u need.
I wish to play GTA 5 / The Witcher 3 on max details while being on the train or some hotel or stuffs.
That's why I'm going for MsI.
Witcher3? Nvidia is a good choice then.
However demanding max details on low price - thats wishthinking.
Especially if u add up Nvidia and Intel into one machine u pay a lot of money for a minor quality based extraspeed.
It might be not high degree gaming, but the cheapest notebook I found that looked gameable (FX-7600P with M270DX) costs only 600€. Another notebook with i7 and 960m costs 1000€.
The difference in Money make a whole notebook in less then 2 years, or a whole Computer. Thats why its nonsense to invest extramoney in a long living PC - its simply cheaper nowadays to buy midrange and redo when its good time.
Advantages - new harddisk (less likely to break), warranty, new screen, new keyboard and probably it will be even faster then anything you can buy now.
if it has 8gb and ssd then +1.
The gfx card is nice
Also check Asus Republic of Gamers Ultrabooks too i've heard they'r good too.
http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ It's around the same price

@skull
i wrote lame comment, i don't find necesary to make manual for PSUs . Also everybody can find allot of information in internet.
No need to excel with knowledge.
Also to take powerfull PSU may include to power additional hardware in the furture (more HDD, additional cards etc.)
wrote:wrote:u guys have to much money.Get a fucking job then....
I have a job, thats why im not quaking.
Ooooh WOWOWOWOWOW! Ok man. Bad ass.
Also to take powerfull PSU may include to power additional hardware in the furture (more HDD, additional cards etc.)
GPU: Up to 250W per Card
CPU: Up to 150W per CPU
Ram: Up to 4W per Dimm
Fans: Up to 3W per Fan
HDD: Up to 10W
SSD: Up to 6W
MoBo: Up to 80W
DVD: Up to 30W
so even if u stack ur PC with 1 GPU and 1 CPU and have 4 Ram, 4 Fans, 4 HDDs, 1 SSD and a DVD and manage to get all components to run at full load same time - you won't crack 600w.
There is no such thing as future reserves for a PSU.
common PSU that are delivered with cases are about 350-450W, which don't give enough power to 12V rail which most of modern components use, so it is recommended to use 500-600W or higher.
to me 500-600W (or higher) is big compared to 350-400w
OK now?
And also there are future reserves. Because when i bought my PSU, 7 years ago i bought 550 W, i changed 4 MB, 6 CPU, added external video. And i have no problems. If i were bought 350W , well then, i have to upgrade PSU too.
I guess you mean a PC here? Or another, cheaper notebook with the same parameters but cheaaper?
Not really sure about that; judging by the parameters and the materials used it's quite a decent price. At least according to my judgement.
Yeah, they're fragile like mine, but this MsI beauty has really great materials and the durability is highly increased. You can't tell the plastic is tougher than aluminium, and there's a lot of it on MsI. That's also one of the reasons I'm decided for this notebook.
That's how I fucked up my current laptop warranty just after like 5 months At the party I left my glass of wine on the sobwoofer and went to the toilet. That was idiotic. The bass was hard and it caused the glass to move and drop... straight on my laptop! I'm lucky it works anyway.
